Check this out... a new price hike is just a fancy way of getting us to do bulk orders before that so called price hike. They make a quick buck on our panic, than enjoy the surplus money.... and 6 months down the road, we restart buying. In the long run, they probably make more money that way.

I hate how they do all this, and I am giving my money to 2nd hand models....

Later on, I will just have to decide to go to 6th edition, or stick with 5 and screw with GW.

Personally, I don't think the execs at GW are actually savvy enough to create artificial panics in order to spur short-term buying. They see their bottom line shrinking and decide that the best way to increase it is to up prices. To their credit, that seems to work quite well for them, considering the number of people leaving the hobby after each price increase, edition change, new codex, [INSERT COMPLAINT HERE] are minuscule, despite their whining and moaning.

Profits decreasing? Customers complaining? Fear not!

Roll a D6

1 - 2 - Knock back a Xenos Codex and bump up a Marine one.
3 - 4 - Hamstring Internet Suppliers
5 - 6 - Raise Prices

How do they roll all the results on a single D6?

Obviously someone panicked and rolled three times

Hi Jordan.
Just to point out if the same amount of people were buying GW product as they were back in 2001,they would have over £80million higher turn over.

They are losing sales volume year, which promts the price rises. It will not be too long before the price increase reaches the turning point where it fails to make up for falling sales volumes.

Remeber on average , for every £100 you spend on GW products only £24 is the cost of manufacturing and distributing the product.
About £50 goes to running the GW stores.
About £26 goes on other overheads.(About £2 goes towards 'game development'.)

Reminds me of Disneyland. The primary reason the company can charge so much is simply because they can. As long as customers keep shelling out money GW will continue to charge what they want to make a tidy profit. I've only spent 100 dollars in the last five years simply because prices are too high(for me.) I can guarantee that I would've shelled out far more had prices been more reasonable.

The genius of the 40k tablestop is that players are competing against each other to win matches, which leads to them spending money to buy competitive armies (which later are not so competitive when rules change, or new codices come out.)
