I finally give in to BFG since my group started it and I got a Cruiser box, a Dauntless and like 6 swords.
So I got a few 500 pts ideas.

Mars Battlecruiser – targeting matrix - 285
Dauntless Light Cruiser - 110
Sword Escort x3 – 105

or

Luna Cruiser – 180
Luna Cruiser – 180
Sword Escort x4 – 140

Obviously this will influence how I assemble the cruiser box, so I kinda want to know before I do it.

Since you need 2 cruisers per battlecruiser list 1 is off limits.

In BF Armageddon the ratio is 1:1 but there the Dauntless can only be added as a reserve.

So list one is a no-no.

Not sure if I actually need the Dictator with the Emperor, would 2 Lance Dauntless be better?
How should I squadron ships btw?

Depends on style of play.
I run a lot of ordinance and a few lances.

It is up to you but the 1500 list does look good to me. Trial it a few times and get a grasp of how it works. And what works well together in squadrons.

I think a re-roll extra would be good for the fleet.

If you switch the Dictator for a Gothic (and thus have room for a re-roll) you will have a really very effective fleet. Allround and all.
