Ok, so I just had a thought about my meganobz. They all have kombi skorchas, now my list that I run has 5 in each squad. But in larger games I bring them all with kombi skorchas so I dont have an option to cut off the remaining flamer bits. So, what I do have are small magnets like the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil, also very thin. So what could I model to represent the meganobz in game showing who has shot their combi weapon. My friend was saying to model flame bits coming out of the weapon, then once I use the combi weapon take it off. But, I am not favoring the idea. I am completely dry on ideas, anyone got a cool suggestion? Also note paint does not stick to magnets =(

I wouldn't bother, honestly. Fiddly little bits like that have a habit of getting lost and aren't really worth the effort. Keep track of it on paper if you think it's going to be an issue.

Ok, paper is a nice go, but I am not entirely sold on the idea. When moving the models about, how would one keep track on paper then?

Just on a notepad or whatever, write down which model used his weapon. Find a defining characteristic on each model, maybe a conversion or something on the base, such as:

Regular
Funny Hat
With Gretchin
Space Wolf Helmet Trophy
Metal Face

or however you modeled your meganobs. This is how my brother keeps track of wounds on his Nob squads; markers are too easy to misplace or accidentally pick up.

edit: I just looked in your gallery and all your meganobs are identical. That makes it harder.

Nothing wrong with doing it the way we did it during our games.

The guys that were dead were the ones who shot thier combi-weapons.
Because "obviously you would not remove a guy who hadn't used his yet."

lol and for the record magnet flames are a solid idea. Humph!

It is easier to extinguish the light within, than to dispell the darkness that surrounds without

The problem with this arises when certain models are "sniped" from a squad. Such as with JotWW.
Or when every model is allocated a wound from a blast. It seems unfair to go "oh... well the ones that died were the ones that used their guns already."

Maybe you could put a red skull on the base as a marker.
Be it magnetized or not, it'd look badass and serve a good purpose.

you could put a dice next to the squad on how many guys have shot their combi flamers.

Dice next to the squad does not work, remember, its the MODEL that shot it, and suddenly sneaking a model with an unshot flamer over to the section thats shot flamers, and there being something of around 9 inches moving between point a and point b.... not a bad idea, but ive encountered this problem before.

I might suggest, if its possible and not clearly visible, using either a fuel tank, or ammo runt. The fuel tank being expended, angers the ork, who then hurls it to no effect, or, having exhausted his flamer supply, he berates his ammo runt, and beats him to go het him more of da burny stuff. Just paint your ammo runts a specific color to ensure you dont mix them up.

---

checked your images right now... I would definately say one of two things: either the ammo runt, magnetized to base, or possibly a piece of debris, smoking and blackend, that magnetizes to the base once the scorcha is used. All other options, to me, add damage and more work, these appear the simplest.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from.

oh okay I see what you mean my mistake. I would put a fuel tank on their back that can be taken off after they've fired their flamer. its easy quick and wouldn't involve to much more converting to do.

actually I really like that idea... when I make my next sternguard squad (combi melta plasma) I'll do something like that to keep track of who's shot and who hasn't.

Poda_t that's a great idea, I am glad you understand " All other options, to me, add damage and more work, these appear the simplest."
