I was wondering what some people like in 40k armies, personally i love tyranid , swarms are just really fun especially backed up with the monsters.

So whats your favorite army and why?

Personally, I prefer Chaos Space Marines to the others. Especially the background of the different Legions.

Tau due to the very expeditionary feel of Cadres. I started a Tau army back in January and have since sold/traded my Space Marines away to end up with a just-over-2000 pt expeditionary mechanized cadre.

Dark Eldar hands down are my favorite army. I've sold all my Chaos and Eldar forces since the re-release. They are the ultimate evil for the sake of evil army.

Although i play orks i have to say my favorite army is Chaos.
The armor looks awesome and there is very much diversity because of the 4 gods and their different styles.

Eldar because the fluff is amazing, they are elite and arrogant, the models look incredible, they have one of the largest miniature ranges, and they are somehow a "underdog" so I feel special when playing them.

They are also quick, Wave serpent spam makes me lol. Overall they fit my personality pretty well.

The Necrons.

They're so simple in their goals, so far removed from the drama of heresy, corruption, space politics, greater good-ing, and so on.

They're just here to exterminate, and they look pretty cool while doing it.

My favorite would have to be Sister's of Battle. I have played them since 3rd edition big black book, through chapter approved rules, to the current 3rd edition codex.

True, but Orks inspire chuckles rather than fear, for me at least. Also I never liked anything animalistic/bestial so Nids are out. Plus the undead, robo-skeletal, technosorcery aspects of the Necrons are big draws for me.

My favourite army are CSM, since I have weakness for the evil ones ^w^, but specially because I love their background and looking.
I also like Dark Eldar, Necrons and Tyranids (these 4 were my candidates for my first army).

I think I have to say space marines. I love their weapons and tanks. The scouts and terminators look great. Techmarines just look badass. Normal power armor... that I do not like.

Imperial Guard, because there are so many diverse ways to play them and they have great tanks with lots of pie plates!

Gotta go with Sisters of Battle. Not gonna lie, it's because it's an all female army.

There's a reason all my MMO characters are female. Female characters just plain look better. ^^ Albeit, I hope GW's gotten better at sculpting female faces.

Of course, my favoritism is unusually fluid. Just a few weeks ago, I was really into my Imperial Guard for a short time, and before that, my small Lizardmen army that I had wanted to get for a few months, finally did, built in one day, painted some for a few days, then was sick of. Who knows when my recurring infatuation with my Sisters of Battle army will fade for a while, and what it'll be replaced with? Not even myself, that's who.
