Just what the title says: Do Grey Knight Psychotroke Grenades affect enemy walkers and/or walker squadrons?

The scenario we ran into was a squadron of Killa Kans assaulting a GK Purifier squad with attached Inquisitor with Psychotrokes. The grenade rules state that you roll the D6 for each enemy unit assaulting or being assaulted and never mentions vehicles one way or the other. This was the first game any of us had run a vehicle squadron like the Kans and there was some confusion of whether the Kan were a "unit".

We agreed that the grenades mostly because the GK player rolled a useless result, but wanted to know for future games. What do you guys think?

"There are no wolves on Fenris" Sindermann had said
"Except, of course... for the wolves, ser?" he had replied.
"Exactly, Kasper,"

Yes, Kans are a unit. Two of the results have no effect on them, but they are still a unit that you assaulted/assaulted you.

Also, Psychotrokes will trigger when you assault a non-walker enemy vehicle, although only one effect would be of any use.

As above - vehicles are units.

Against walkers only two don't affect it. Against a Vehicle only 2 affect it.

Walkers only a roll of a 4 or 1 do nothing with vehicles a roll of a 2 or a 3 works.

There no way it should effect a walker or a tank.

However by the rules as written they do.

Good catch, when I read through them I merely skimmed #2 and saw the attack reduction and forgot about the first part.

While a tank might not make a whole lot of sense fluff-wise for the particular effects it can succumb to, walkers are still combative, reactive organic beings in armor - just that the armor is thicker and taller.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Necrons might also want a word in about whether a nerve gas could affect something that isn't organic. But RAW says it works, so it works.

the Psychotroke grenade probably has other componants that will affect mechanical parts too.
