Hello there!

Unlike many GW stores mentioned here, my local one (as i ignore the other local GW store which will not be named) Is the Alamo, CA store. The staff is great and its a big store and great for hosting events. The main man there is really nice and has been letting veteran gamers use the store as a hub for events. Last weekend we had an 1850 40k tourney and it was loads of fun.

But i have a conundrum!

I have decided i want to start a summer campaign at the store and I was wondering if i could get some tips, pointers, etc.

We have a large planetary empire's map and I loved the eye of terror campaign. I can think of some story but any helpwould be appritiated, But i'd like to get input on how to put together a campaign and any useful resources avalable!

Do you got the big rulebook?
If not you can probably borrow it from the shop. The shop sounds friendly so it shouldn't be a problem.
There is quite some information about a campaign in the back of the book.

The BRB is useful...

Try to use all of the expansions if you can.

A system we use for fun is this:
You choose a general at the start of the game. This general must be a HQ choice. You then choose a set of personal objectives for all the generals
e.g. Kill another general
Kill 20 enemies in a single game
Kill something worth 100 point or more than the general (wargear included)
You then make a chart of bonuses.e.g.
1)+1WS
2)+1BS
3)+1S
4)+1T
5)Gains Furious Charge (unless he already has it)
6)Gains Counter-attack (unless he already has it)
For each personal objective completed roll against this chart and apply the bonus, you may only get each bonus once.
You can extend the chart to 2D6 instead and include further bonuses.

Great idea! Ill consider it. Yeah I am going to use battle missions cities of death and planetstrike. I'm skeptical to use apoc

Apocalypse should really only be used for a final/important battle...
Even then you have to make sure it is managed well and it may take a few days to resolve.

First and foremost, how big is your gaming space? There's absolutely no point in having a multi-way Apocalypse game if you've only got 3 4-foot boards.

Your space and terrain should help you figure out how to set your campaign and which missions should/should not be used, for eample, there's little point in having a few boards planned for city-fights when you've got 1 board-worth of urban terrain.

Once you know what you've got and what you need to buy/make (if anything), it'll be a bit easier to select your missions and build a sensible campaign.

i've decided no apoc, whatsoever.

That being said its at my local GW, we have 8, 4x6 tables there with a multitude of different terrain pieces and boardss to use, everywhere from full cuties to all the standards landscapes to fantasy terrrain and even thigns like tau settlements and nextron ruins. possibilities are endless with this store we got lots of resources and a full planetary empires map.
