1) This first one came up in a game last night:

Can walkers (dreadnougt in this case) Sweping Advance if they win an assault? I know that Terminators can't, but i couldn't find anything in the lilttle rule book specifically saying that walkers can't.

2) Do Super Heavy Walkers work the same in assault as normal walkers (as in locked in combat, always attack front armour). Also, relating to question 1, can Super Heavy walker Sweeping Advance (i realise it makes no sense as to why they would but i an't see a rule saying they cant)

1 - There is no prohibition against walkers sweeping advancing units.

2 - That one i couldn't say, I don't play APOC.

Ok, well that clears up number 1. Weird, i as expectign the answer to be No. After all, if Termies can't do it how can you justify a big chunk of metal doing it?

Anyone chiming in on Number 2?

A dreadnought is ancient, I imagine he just lumbers after them yelling 'Get off my lawn'

super heavy walkers can only be locked in combat with other super heavy walkers or gargantuan creatures.

Normal models in assault are move +1" at the end of the assault phase.

...edit...

Here we go page 92 apoc ... and your told to follow most of the gargantuan creature rules

never roll for seeping advance, hits count as ordances (as well as the normal MC bonus), end of the assualt anything that is not a S.H walker or G.Creature must consolidate 1" away from it.

they can also use stomp

Coudl you explain the second bit for me?

Also, when you assault a super heavy walker, do you still attack the front armour only? You woudl think a marine coudl sneak up behind a titan and smak a melta bomb on the rear armour.

May be they could sneak up but the feet are represent by the higher Front AV. (note that you follow all the normal rules for a vehicle of X type with the following additions/changes)

Second bit is simply you cannot be locked in combat with super heavy walkers unless you are another super heavy walker or a gargantuan creature.

The feet count as front armour? Is that in the apoc book? I've never heard of that before.

So that covers a Titan. What about a Brass Scorpion where you can get between the rear legs to the rear armour? Woudl you then assault the rear armour like a tank, or the front armour like a walker?

Sorry tri, didn't see the edit of your first post....

no was in an article when some one was asking about it (may also be thinking about old IA ... got none of those near me to check though) ... they follow the normal rules for walkers so only get hit on their front armour.

If its a walker (it is) front armour only

A walker is a walker. You use the front AV. The fluff justification is that the feet and lower legs are usually better armored, since they're the easiest for infantry and other little things to reach.

This was actually a rule, back in IA update land for the original Warhound rules.

If you were jump infantry (or could move as such) you could assault the rear armour of the warhound, but as this was 4th ed time you actually had ot be in the rear arc.

Super Heavy walkers are still walkers.

meaning they followe all rules for Walkers with the exception of the Super Heavy Walker special rules.

if it isn't covered in the Appoc rulebook then you revert to the normal rulebook.
