G'day Dakka Dakka!

Suffice to say I felt I needed to make one of these hello posts first, rather than going ahead with my insane plan of diving headlong into a Painting Log. It just seemed proper to do such a thing.

My name's Rocco and I fall into the more money than sense (at one point in my life) camp. As a result I have wound up with a small mountain of things to paint and with a friend I have resolved I must paint before I can buy any more. I'm not new to the hobby, having been wandering around for 14 years or so and indeed some of you may recognise the name from other forums elsewhere.

So, why Dakka Dakka and why now? Well, simply put. I like you guys. Every thread I've read just radiates community whereas several others have become quite hostile of late. Your M,P & T section has feedback from people in every thread. This is important. And community is always good.

Plus the fact I can access this site at work makes it even more win.

But I don't just paint (sporadically). I also play. I have a fluke habit of being successful and sort of have the convenience to live near (and be friends with) a number of folks who fare rather well in the UK tournaments. As a result I am being regularly told by them I should go to more. (I think the Student Nationals this year convinced me. First Fantasy tournament ever and I very nearly placed top three with the perk of giving the guy who won the hardest game of the weekend - go go wall of Saurus!).

Expect more from me and I look forward to showing more to you.
