Supreme general Alexander shield.......................................................points: 190
Alexander shield was born to a high prestige noble family on the planet Algri but when he was 6 years old the planet was attacked by orks. Although the planets defence force drove the orks back into the warp, it appeared that the ork warboss had kidnapped Alex and forced him into the grot pens. There he met his first friend Bugsnot, an old gretchen. During his time in the warp Alex learnt about the orks including the best way to kill them, it wasn’t long till he took his revenge on the orks for taking him from his home. When the ork ship emerge from the warp a nearby Cadian regiment was sent in to exterminate the orks but instead found that the ship was littered with ork carcasses, as the Cadian’s press forward their scanners picked up signs of life, but to their surprise they found a young boy and a old gretchen. On the way back to Cadia the inquisition was called in to discover the boys past, what they found was incredible startling. It appeared that the boy had been in warpspace for over ten thousand years, how the boy survived for so long is a mystery but as the investigation continued the found that Alex might be the last surviving link to the emperor. With this discovery the inquisition ordered the regiment to take Alex to his home world of Algri and protect him with their life. It wasn’t long till the enemies of mankind learnt of the boy and soon the planet was engulf in apocalyptic war but under the orders of Alexander the imprium was triumphant in protecting the planets vast resources and the blood of the emperor.
Supreme general Alexander shield does not take up a force organisation slot but if he joined by his retinue then he does take up a slot.
Supreme general Alexander shield
WS: 7 BS: 5 S: 5 T: 6 W: 7 I: 10 A: 6 LD: 10 SV: 4+/2+
Type: infantry, independent, (unique)
Wargear: the armour of the emperors will, shot fire, sword of justice, the family shield, frag grenades, melta bombs.
Special rules: counter attack, eternal warrior, feel no pain, furious charge, night vision/acute senses, preferred enemy (all), fearless, being of legend, don’t point that at me, related to a god.
The armour of the emperors will: this armour was kept secure by the tech priest of mars till a worthy owner appeared. It is a caprace that contains a powerful force field. It confers a 4+ save and a 2+ inv save.
Shot fire: this weapon was created by Alexander to take revenge on the orks. It fires a modified round that is filled with a highly flammable fuel, what’s more terrifying is when Alex loads a rocket propelled round, the victim latterly becomes a living firework.
Flame shot: R: 12 S: 4 AP: 4 T: pistol (assault 1), ignores inv and cover
Rocket shot R: 12 S: 4 AP: 4 T: pistol (heavy 1), rocket
Rocket: when selected to fire a rocket roll for normal to hit, if hit roll a scatter dice, if a arrow is rolled than the model moves 2D6 in the direction rolled, the model and any other models nearby then suffers a hit from the profile (R: na S:* AP:- T: blast), with the strength equal to the models toughness. if a hit is rolled then the model fly’s straight up. Use the same profile but in addition it ignores cover.
Sword of justice: this weapon was created by the Salamder space marine chapter as a gift to Alex. It is made from rare volcanic metal that can burst into flames when Alex desires. It is a power weapon that ignores inv saves.
The family shield: in battle Alex carries his family’s shield that was given to him when he stepped onto the marshes of Algri. It is an ancient relic that contains the same force field as those in power fists. It counts as an additional power fist that can also protect Alex against attacks, any attack (shooting or close combat) that has strength of 5 or less can be ignored on a roll of 5+.
Being of legend: every since Alex was rescued there have been countless tales and rumours of Alexis past from being marooned on a Tyranid infested planet to bringing down a renegade titan with a stick bomb, wether these stories are true will forever be a mystery as Alex shows no sign of telling. To no one surprise the enemy armies have had heard the stories from imprium prisoners and traitors alike. Any enemy squad wishing to assault Alex must take a leadership test, if passed they assault as normal, if failed they cannot assault that turn.
Don’t point that at me: no commissioner will every try to execute Alex if they favour there life.
Related to a god: because of Alexi’s background he can give 6 orders a turn, he has an order range of 12, he has access to bring it down, fire on my target, get back in the fight, first rank fire, FIRE! Second rank, FIRE! , incoming, and move, move, move orders, he always orders first.
Options:
Alex may take his retinue to battle.
If Alex takes his retinue into battle then he may be joined by an astropath, master of ordinance, and master of the fleet

If you ars serious, the commander is totally overpowered and unrealistic. A human could never have T 7 or S 6, a maximum would be S 4 or T4. Also WS 7 is unrealistic and not to mention the 2+ inv. save.

Did I miss the announcement for "Make the most overpowered character" week? Seriously, 7 wounds? Only Gargantuan Creatures have that many, and what could possibly justify a human having T6?

Nah, that's just about the only believable part.

A superbly capable duelist, such as Ciaphas Cain, could justifiably be said to be WS7 or so.

who wants to know?

I take it that i may have gone over the top...........a little.....

The basic idea was a guy with a shield and a fire sword, then found that this gun was perfect.

I now see that the stats are a tad bit over done.
Say: WS6 BS5 S4 T3 W4 I5 A4 LD 10

More sugestions would be apreciated.

even WS6 seems a bit much for a human.

The way I think of it:

WS1-2: the skill of everyday people

WS3: the skill of a soldier trained in CQC or some such

WS4: the skill of a veteran warrior with years of experience or an average astartes.

WS5: the skill of an extremely skilled astartes swordsmen with decades of experience, practically unobtainable by all but the most accomplished humans

WS6: a skill level obtainable only by individuals such as Chaos veterans over hundreds or thousands of years of experience, and monstrous creatures.

WS7+: purely the domain of Greater Daemons, Avatars, C'tan etc. Also for chaos veterans ho have devoted their existence to perfecting the art of fighting (Lucius, Kharne etc.)

Just my 2 cents. YMMV

WS5 is basically the highest a non-named human character can get. A named human character can get higher, such as Cain who is probably along the lines of WS7 or WS8 (nobody could touch him in close combat-- genestealers, daemons, chaos marines, orks, etc, and his only wound was actually from a Necron flayer gun). But then again, that's also an exceptional case, and not something that is necessarily needed to be represented in tabletop. So I'd say for an exceptionally skilled named human fighter-- say, the best human duelist in a segmentum-- WS6 would be appropriate.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

If you read the fluff, it stats that he has been living with the orks for 10,000 years (roast squig and fungus beer has strange side effects on ummies) and he would have been in a "couple" of fights that he would of learned from, plus their are the endless tales of his life.
But i take it that a IG general with WS6 is a bit scary, i will put it down to WS5
I could not help noticing that no one has mentioned his team.

I like their names, and that's about all.

Just WAAAAAAYY too many special rules. The guy is nigh unkillable, deals horrendous damage both at range and in CC and his team is also similarly overpowered. Try playing this man alone vs 1500 points of space marines. Something tells me, you'd still win.

Literally, what were you thinking? With that many skills and abilities he should be like 2000 points.

I just did the maths. 1000 bolter shots would do 6 wounds to him(on average).
1000 bolter shots is an entire chapter of marines (at 24") firing at him and it wouldn't even kill him.

Do you see the problem?

Uhh....Marbo is T3, with a 5+ save, 2 wounds and no invul save.

I wouldn't consider Marbo likely to survive shooting from anything more than 2 Tactical Marine.

Congratulations, you have written the entry for either Horus or The Emperor. You should be proud.

For your hombre here, I recommend that you look at Comissar Yarrick(the greatest character ever). He has an amazing fluff behind him, yet doesn't break the game. 3 wounds with a really cool way to demonstrate his toughness, a couple good buffs for his attached unit, and a power klaw. Other than that, he is a relatively normal human, albeit well trained and skilled.

Toning your guy down would be wrong. You need to completely rewrite him to not be insane. 3 wounds are about all you can give a human, ws 5 would be a great fencer, and a BS of 5 if still amazing.

The point of building your own character isn't to get you something that will win the game, its to create something that will change the game but not break it. See link. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=cat440136a&categoryId=1000010§ion=&aId=6700007

With all respect, but they are kinda overpowered...
The points and stats are quite high. How about taking a stormtrooper or a veteran as a basic, expand from that point and in the end, when you think it's reasonable, you add another 50 %. It's better to have an underpowered character that an overpowered character.
That way, your opponent might be willing to play against them again.
If you only make OP characters, you can get a bad reputation at the gaming club and lose opponents.
