Like the titles says, does anyone have a list of models that are not included in each faction deck? Is buying the figure the only way to get the rules for such models?

Not a list but should give you a general clue

MKII Faction Deck 2010 contains all releases until Legends (Warmachine) and Metamorphosis (Hordes)

Does not include all models released in Forces of ____ books and new releases for upcoming books like Wrath

No, you can always get the books ("Forces of X" and "Wrath" in June so far) for the rules. Battle college (a tactics wiki for Warmachine) gives a rough rundown on rules and hints at stats as well.

This is why I always suggest a new player to WMH (not that I know if you are new or not) always pick up the Force books. Yes, the decks are cheaper, but to a new player coming in the number of new models can be intimidating. With the Force books it's all right there, you don't have to figure out what model stats you don't have access to.

It would be easier to compile a list of cards that ARE included, as the list
of cards not included is going to expand. Let me get an article up. The one
thing I DON'T know will be the quantities.

I actually do the opposite - I recommend the decks first, because they make it easier to proxy a variety of models and you don't have to get scratch paper to mark out your warbeast/warjack damage grids. In an ideal world, a player would be able to pick up the core rules, faction deck, *and* Forces of ___ books all at the same time. I know that not many people want to drop that much cash all at once for just rules, though.

and it bears mentioning that PP previews new models and stats regularly on NQ and people will be talking and spoiling those stats in the forums/PP website

If you're thinking a new model is worth getting, check out an issue of NQ or head to the forums this usually helps me decide whether I'm getting a new model or not

It doesn't hurt to try to complie a bit, but as noted, any list of what's not in the books will increase over time, especially when Wrath comes out. The main list here, are things in Wrath and the Forces book. Working from memory, I think what is out or announced that isn't in the decks:

Some of these we only have art, names, and other spoilers, but still, its not that bad. Force Book + Wrath/Domination will pretty much have everything in there except the Minion/Mercenary moptions, and the Minions not listed there are all included in the Hordes decks anyways.

I know the Devastator comes in the Khador pack and I'm kinda sure the WGRC's are as well.

It seems that the best option is to buy the books if you want to look over the various factions. It is always important to know your opponent's force. You only need the cards for factions that you play.

Really, after a while you start to memorize things. And while tis helpful, it can get expensive. A good rule fo thumb is to read-up on strategies of different factions and have a look-ove ryour opponent's stuff at the beginning of a game.

After a point a lot of it becomes internalized, trust me.

I made a cheat sheet of stats that I keep so I don't have to go through all the cards to find a stat.

The cheat sheet also goes toward being a good roster too once you put grids on it.
