So the players at the FLGS I work at finally broke my spirit and have convinced me to play again. I decided to dust off the IG boxes I've been storing since 3rd and start a list.

After reading and reading and reading, and catching a few games with borrowed armies I formed this list.

HQ:
Primaris Psycher; 70

Elites:
Psyker Battle Squad + 5 Sanctioned Psyker + Chimera; 165

Troops:
VS + 3 x MG; 100
VS + 3 x MG; 100
VS + 3 x PG + Chimera; 170

Fast Attack:
Valkyrie + MRP; 130

Heavy Support:
Leman Russ Squad
2x LREx + 2 x LC; 410

Any comments?

Pretty light on scoring units for a 1500pt IG list. You might have some trouble with hoard lists as well. Also realise a single Psychic hood shuts down your psykers.

That is what I call a Mech list though... I think for the most part you will do fine. It will come down to who shoot's first, if you know what I mean. If I was a mech force facing this I would target Pask first, so you might consider just putting him in the squad, or just keep all 3 seperate.

Didn't realize the psychic hood could be used on models in a transport, I will have to re-analyze that. I was pretty up in the air with Pask. I could drop him and the Psykers, pick up a IP instead.

Not bad not bad for a first list.

BlkTom makes some good points about your lack of troops. Also consider that the two melta Vets in the Valkyries you will be throwing to the grind but at least you have the unit synergy correct . I wouldn't worry about psychic hoods, while it is a fair point this is something every psyker has to worry about.

You don't really need the Executioners in a squad as that's 6 plasma blasts firing at one target. Also the lascannons are too expensive to hit 50.50.

Pask and Vanquisher isn't very good and costs too much points - 220 points for a one shot tank, no tanks!

I'm still getting used to 5th edition, last time I played was 3rd, so I'm still learning the ins and outs of vehicle squads. I've dumped Pask, just need to find something to spend the points on.

I expect the LRex to be the exicutioner, split into two teams so you take up all three foc slots. also i would give pask sponsons as they get to use his bs4 apart from that looks pretty good

Yeah i agree with James, split those Leman russes up ! no point losing 2 tanks to a single squads fire when you can split them up and draw even more fire from the enemy for separate targets.

Love the amount of tanks in there but having only 30 infantry is very very light!

in my list i run a platoon with 5 squads plus PCS, 2 Vets squads in Chimeras and a CCS and the amount of infantry casualties i take is actually horrendous!

Definately think about dropping pask as he is overpriced, your tank hunting ability is good with the vanquisher but i think you could fit a bit more ordanance in there!

My main fear on this list is that my only anti tank are the two Melta-Vets being scout valk'ed in to the lion's den, so to speak.

I wouldn't fear that is your only anti tank because it is one of the better anti tanks in the game. Be confident because that is their job. Against certain spam lists you may have some trouble but should be a fun list and pretty competitive. Plus those LR Ex will do some serious damage.
