Disclaimer- this is my first 40k army. I have read plenty of fluff and things on the web leading up to now but i'm only about a month into the hobby. The Book Horus Rising is the main basis for this post. A lot of this post is based on the events around the planet "Murder"

Firstly i wanted to create an army that was mostly my idea. I don't want to meet 1000x other Ultramarines on the battle field. My idea is to create a Blood angel codex army painted up as pre-heresy Emperors children and here is why...

- Blood angles seem to march to their own drum and not much liked by their fellow SM brothers. Emperors Children seem to be on that same path as their constant pursuit of perfection has them sounding a little too high and mighty to other chapters.

-Blood angles seem to favor fast attack in their codex as does post Heresy Emperors Children in the Chaos Book (Raptor Cults)

-Death company unit rules could be applied to Some Emperors Children units with the fluff that these Guys have given up on their pursuit of perfection, having suffered some insurmountable loss of their honor. They now only seek glorious death in battle.

-Sanguineness Guard - These could simply be the children closes to perfection in the eyes of the Emperor.

-Blood Angels charge all over the battle field due to their special blood rule. Emperors Children can follow this same rule by charging all over the battle field seeking perfection and glory in the next battle similar to the mess they got them selves into on planet Murder when the Luna Wolves had to come save them. Emperors children saw a chance to help marines in danger gave no thought to tactics only winning glory and nearly got several companies of marines all but Destroyed.

+++My 2nd option is to have this be an off shoot chapter of the Emperors Children. Emperors Children turned to chaos while these guys ran off made their own chapter. Emperors something or another.

-The only change to my previous fluff i spoke about would be Death Company is now composed of marines who feel the taint of chaos entering them and now seek death in combat before it is to late.

-They also now charge all over the battle field in a frenzy to reclaim their chapters lost honor.

The Chapter colors would be Pink/Purple and black to represent the taint within them and their wounded honor due to the rest of their brothers turning to chaos.

What do you guys think? any thoughts would be welcomed. maybe a good chapter name.

I wouldn't choose the 2nd option personally but that's merely my choice.
The 1st option is very good IMO.
