Hmm pretty standard mech/air cav list. Only thing thats bugging me is that maybe it would be a better idea to put the IS meltas in the CCS and the PCS

I dont really know why IG players post the same list over and over and over.

Yes this is the broken IG leaf blower list that you have seen other IG run, what input do you want?

Well assuming its for competitiveness, its either mech vets with Av12 support or powerblobs. Not much variation besides the occasional swapping of similarly priced units

How do you want us to respond? What feedback could we possibly give rofl? Yes youve copied and pasted an overpowered army list that many people have used, what do you want from us?

Why come into a tactics thread to contribute nothing and just be negative towards the poster? If you don't like it, don't post. I've typically seen you positive in threads, but I don't see the need for this at all. There are nuances, whether people want to believe it or not, to playing IG.

Also, before you start throwing around the term "leaf blower", you should probably learn what it is. Leaf blower was a specific type of IG army which focused purely on an immobile alpha strike list with tons of template weaponry, and primary artillery such as medusas. This list is actually thoroughly NOT a leafblower. For some reason people on the net have shifted the term "leafblower" to mean "any IG army that brings vehicles in any quantity". Check out the original list that was posted on BOLS back in the day that coined the term and compare, they're very different. At this point, leafblower has become some kind of imperial guard slur to express one's distaste with a list, and frankly i rankles me quite a bit.

Tom, I like the list, but I don't love the CCS without a transport. It may be a different ballgame nowadays since when you outflank most events force you to move 12, and so you want to make more use of it since you cant just move on 6 and fire lascannons. I'm still not convinced it's a better plan then just starting on the board and turboing/outranging if you go second to try and protect them.

I think those 95 points would be better spent elsewhere personally, maybe on a third hydra + the melta for your other ccs and the alrahem squad.

All in all, a good list. You thinking of this for NOVA? I'd personally favor the BA meph/raider build you've been working on.

Personally, I'm not sold on Al'Rahem's value. But other than that, I love it.

@odorofdeath
Alrahem is quite good for objective missions and table corners missions.

@targetawg
I agree with you on all counts.

Not every IG list is a leafblower.

I don't like the company command in a Vendetta either. Vendettas get shot first. If you want an alpha strike squad give a veteran squad demolitions and only load them in the Vendetta if you get first turn. With melta bombs you can hit muliple vehicles or destroy squadrons if your opponent starts vehicles too close together.

Blood Angel Mephiston with 2 land raider redeemers full of assault terminators backed by assault squads in razorbacks and possibly a 3rd raider build is better then Imperial Guard at 2000 pts.

If you have nothing constructive to add to the list discussion, for whatever reason, then it's best you simply don't post in the thread.

Targetawg- I am thinking of going to Nova, it should be a lot of fun.

Smitty- I don't know what to tell you bro....It's pretty standard. I guess I posted it to get my actual friends that I know personally on this site's opinion. Sorry that it bother's you so much. I'm gonna have a beer now.

bye, bye.

I do agree on the extra hydra and meltaguns....I just don't own another hydra.

I have heard about a lot of tournaments not allowing the 6" move on with Vendettas/Valkyries. I think that kinda stinks, since I usually measure by the base of the model in my local circle. But oh well, guess there's nothing I can do about that.

First thing I will say is this... drop the Bolt Pistol off of the CCS and buy 2 Blot pistols for the Sergents of Al'Rahim's Platoon squads to get you to 1999pts.

Have you considered this... putting Al'Rahim's squads in the 3 Vendettas and thus outflanking with all of them?

I personally just don't like seeing something like a Vendetta that can carry troops and not do so. Even a naked 35pt Special Weapons squad would make it an option as a scoring unit. Sure, it is a extra kill point... not going to lie and say there are not flaws. You could also blow another 30pts on each squad and use them as your suicide option with 3 meltaguns (65pts per squad), but then you might have to re-config your army some. Due to Al'Raem's 'Stalk the Enemy', the Special Weapons squads would still have to out-flank giving you 6 units out-flanking.

If you do like the idea of All'Rahem riding in Vendettas, it would free up 110pts if you put your CCS back in a Chimera. This could mean more Heavy support or even a Vet squad with Sentries and a AC or 2 5pt weapons to sit on a home objective.

Hope this gives you something to think about. Good luck!

Well, as far as I know from chatting with MVB, he's playing it that they can come on 6 inches and fire. Def. something to check on with him, but if thats the case, I wouldn't stress. I had kinda figured this was a nova army.

I'll be looking forward to seeing you guys down around my neck of the woods, for once I won't be doing all the driving!

@blktom The reason I like Al'rahems platoon in chim's and not the vendettas, is that multilasers are actually semi decent for side shots on vehicles, and the flamers can be relevant on backfield units. Remember his whole platoon must outflank, so he'll still get (and have to) outflank the entire thing.

Alrahem just wins objective and table corners games esp in nova format with five objectives where they are in corners. Even at colonial he was amazing winning games 3 and 4.

I think you need a witch hunter inquisitor lord w hood and melta or plasma warriors for the grey knights match. Fortitude is pretty ridiculous. Yermom unstuned/shakken 6 tanks in one round in my game against him its a huge swing
