I have this sinking feeling that the Sisters of battle infantry, the battle sisters, will be five to a box but resin models. Thus, much like grey knights in price.

I can't imagine them releasing a new codex and new models, but not doing them in plastic; it just doesn't make any sense.

/Wait, that means they are VERY likely to do it, then
//I've converted a single SoB to wield an eviscerator-- the model looks good, but dremeling pewter once was all I could stomach-- please, please let them be plastic.

There will be two plastic sprues, each of which have five Sisters.

I have this sinking feeling that someone is going to take your idea and run with it on a rumor website, contrary to the fact that we've had confirmation for a year or so now from the freaking sculptor that he's doing plastic Sisters.

Oh well. This is how bad rumors start.

On another note, right now Sisters are still available in their 3/$17.25 pack.

So it looks like they're not going to Finecast either.

I hope it's okay to be hopeful that the Sisters not going to Finecast means that plastic Sisters are so close that it's not worth making them in resin for such a short time...

You know, rather than the less assuming thing where they're just not as popular as the other stuff due to their price, so they're not being included in the first wave of Finecast.

I think if they make them,it will be plastic.

GW are moving a good few resin stuff into plastic and building bigger.

It would just be smarter if they are plastic.

I've been aware of that. ^^

But if the plastic Battle Sisters weren't going to be ready for another year or two, then they might have recast them as resin in the interim due to the rising price of tin. Since they didn't, I'm forced to conclude that the plastic Battle Sisters are either:

a) going to be released soon enough that it's not worth making resin casts.

b) not going to be released soon, and were simply put off due to their lack of popularity and the current ones will be re-released as Finecast in a second or third wave for the interim.

What I'm hoping for is option A.

I'm sorry if my post was confusing.

I'm hoping for plastic sisters soon as well! My better half has gotten so tired of me talking about my space wolves she's considering a sister army so she can squash my wolves a bit XD I'm very excited to get her into the hobby and plastic sisters and a new codex is just what I need!

It's most likely a combination of A+B.

The Sisters of Battle 'basic' models have yet to go out of stock on the GW site. Does this mean Finecast isn't in their future? Maybe. But it might also just mean that they're selling at such a snail's pace that GW predicts they'll run out of the metals right as the plastics release.

Hmm... I believe you may be farming some free range truth right there.

Is it time to start saving a reservoir of funds for the plastic Sisters?

No. If the backlash from GW's latest bs makes them pull their head in and undo the price hikes and embargoes, then it will be time to start saving.

My plastic Sisters of Battle fund will probably be going to AoW, since neither GW nor Mantic seem to want my money.

see... I would like to find a list somewhere that would show you where to get alternative models for 40k >.< I've had no luck finding alternative models to the GW ones. I mainly play space wolves but as stated further up I plan on buying an entire army of sisters at some point.

Yes. Two sprues with five models on each, with various options on each sprue.

:: nods :: So basically never. ^^

The problem with that is that I may actually want plastic Battle Sisters at some point.

And yay for boxes of 10! : D
