This is for a battle against a friend who uses space marines, I am expecting a lot of terminators, a vindicator and possibly a land raider. The strategy is going to be to keep the veil with the immortals and teleport them around and use the D.Lord with the scarabs to go terminator hunting while the destroyers take out the tanks.

HQ

Lord - 200
-orb
-veil

D.Lord - 210
- destroyer body
- orb
- phase shifter
- warsycthe

Elites

Immortals(x10) - 280

Troops

Warriors(x10) - 180

Warriors(x10) - 180

Fast Attack

Scarabs(x10) - 120

Destroyers(x4) - 200

Destroyers(x4) - 200

Heavy Support

Monolith - 235

Heavy Destroyers(x3) - 195

Total - 2000pts

So any thoughts? Suggestions?

Everyone always tells me Heavy Destroyers are overpriced and not worth it.

heavy destroyers can be amazing, but only if used right. At 2000 points, since your not using them right, use more 'liths.
If you read my necron tactics( link is in my sig) then you'll understand what to do with scarabs.(not termie hunt)

Few points...

2000 points.... 2-3 Monoliths
Destroyer Lord is only really any good in all Destoyer or Wraithwing lists...
Scarabs aren't really worth it with dis.Fields IMO
Heavy Destroyers don't really fit in here either....
Decide what you want to go for in your Necron list (Monolith wall, or Destoyerwing) and you can build a much more solid list....

I do like the idea of more monolith's but at the present time I only have the one. As for the Heavy destroyers they are overpriced lascannons, but they are the only reliable anti-terminator unit I can think of (correct me if there is a better one). And so would it be better to just replace the scarabs and destroyer lord with 4 destroyers and 2 heavy destroyers?

After a small calculation it turns out H.destroyers are better at taking out terminators than destroyers but just barely

4 destroyers = 200pts
4 x 3 = 12shots
8 hit
6.666667 wound
1.11111 terminators die

3 H.destroyers = 195pts
3 x 1 = 3shots
2 hit
1.666667 wound
1.11111 terminators die

But you can just get your lord with destroyer body and attach him to some scarabs and charge him in and he should take out all the termis no problem.

you overestimate the destroyer lords capabilities. If the termies are thunder hammer or power fists, your scarabs will die and you lose combat. lightning claws? same result.

It's all about how much firepower you can pour into a termi squad. force those rolls, and he'll eventually die, especially since terminator heavy forces are expensive. Just keep veils and monoliths nearby those units that might get charged for WBB and getting out of the combat, and you should be fine. Otherwise I would say lower the number of scarabs and use them as a wall to soak up a charge, and get more warriors. Monolith vs HDestroyers, I would almost favor the monolith as they make you very mobile with the portal, and the everyone in x inches takes x shots is ridiculous if you need to force a lot of wounds. especially considering your living armor rule gives you near invincibility. termi heavy means not much over S8, right?
