I suppose I ought to put my money where my mouth is.

The tournament was fun with a nice turn out of 16 players; however, it did have some drama at the beginning, middle and end.

There are a few things that I hope the organizers work on for future events.

First:
Battle Points versus Wins. If one player has won all three of his games, there should be no doubt that he is the winner of the tournament.
Under the current format, a player can win all of his games and end up with 15 points. Another player could get a tie and two massacres and end up with 19 points or two ties and a massacre and end up with 17 points.

This is possible because:
Win = 5 points
Tie = 3 points
Loss = 1 point
Bonus Point for having a scoring troop choice left
Bonus Point for killing enemy HQ (highest or designated if they are the same).

Second:
The tournament organizer needs to learn how to remain calm; instead of flying off the handle and loosing his cool.

Players (9 or 10 players) were upset because they had brought the problems to the TO attention at the beginning of the tournament and he had ignored them.

Instead of listening to their opinions and saying they would be address at the next tournament; or better yet, listening to the players and make a judgement call on the spot.

Instead, the TO got angry and the whole fiasco turned into a shouting match...ridiculous.

As a local to the area, it has been a long time since we had tournaments with 16 players and a TO going ballistic is not going to help us keep such a good turn out.

In addition, the TO would be better served to open up a public forum to discuss the issues rather than belittling the players he had arguments with on facebook where they can only respond if they are added to his group.

In case you are wondering, I won the tournament as the only undefeated player; I was however tied with another player for battle points.

As it was not the other players fault the situation arose, I had the store manager pool first and second place prize money and he and I evenly split it.

hrm, now I'm not so annoyed that I couldn't make it. Nothing kills a mood or environment like a shouting match, especially from a TO.

Wow, I was all set to say "Maybe this was just an isolated incident" until I realized he was talking smack on Facebook after the fact.

Really not professional, IMHO. Stuff happens in the moment, but to keep it going like that is just unfortunate. Moving forward I just hope we can get the format ironed out and just roll some dice.
