I had a game with my friend Dixon last saturday, during the course of that game his unit of eldar pathfinders shot snipers at my broadsides. He caused two wounds, which I failed. My question is: do I take 2 pinning checks, or just one. My argument was just 1 as I thought that I was only 1 pinning check for each unit which shot pinning weapons at me. We looked i the rulebook and found this under Pinning weapons (pg 31 in the small box)

4th paragraph:...as long as the tests are passsed, a unit may be called upon to take multiple pinning tests in a single turn...

However, that really didn't solve our problem as it didn't stay whether a sinlge unit can cause multiple pinning checks.

We turn to you to help resolve this dispute, responses would be very appreciated as I want to make sure I can be sure its definitly rgiht next time

Pinning weapons cause on the enemy it is shooting? (p31)
A: Each unit can only cause a maximum of one Pinning
test on each enemy unit wounded, per turn, regardless of
the number of wounds caused, unless specifically stated
otherwise.

Covered in the BRB FAQ. 1 pinning check per unit firing pinning weapons.

The only way to have to take multiple pinning tests is from multiple enemy units firing at your squad and wounding with pinning weapons. Each time a squad with pinning weapons fires and wounds your squad you will have to take a pinning test so you could take alot in one turn if every pinning weapon on the table fired and wounded the same squad.
