Ok, so i have some money coming in now, depending on what i do, i could get myself i PS3

I already have an Xbox 360, but have played all the games i own to death, pretty much.there were one or two games that i hated (splinter cell double agent, and red faction guerrilla, off the top of my head). I have about 20 games on the crossbox.

The main reason i want to get the PS3 is there's afew games that i want, specifically, infamous 1 & 2, Gran tourismo 5, heavenly sword, marvel ultimate alliance, little big planet and afew others.


The problem is, it is expensive, so i don't know how if I'm going to be able to afford it. its definitely afew months of saving for the console alone, then another few months for the games. (it also means no warhammer models, but that's already backed up quite alot with incomplete models, so i shouldn't buy for a while )

Since i already have an Xbox, I'm thinking this maybe isn't worth it.

my other choice im looking for, is a Nintendo DS (not a 3DS) but tha'ts only for scribblenaughts and The pokemon games, but basically nothing else.

Meh as a ps3 user I would say that if you have an xbox you don't really need a ps3.

Seconded PS3 is really just a blu-ray player for me now.

Were getting less console exclusives theses days so you might be better off sticking to the 360.

I would say get it, the 3DS right now isn't worth it(not too many good 3d titles out right now) and the PS3 does have a lot of exclusives ranging the entire prism of gaming genres.

Killzone 2 and 3 are good, Resistance 1 and 2 are also good. Little Big Planet is fantastic and LBP 2 is even much more.

MLB: The Show(PS3 exclusive baseball game) rates far better than the non-exclusive 2K version.

Heavenly Sword isn't much of a reason to buy the PS3 because its mainly GoW with a female protagonist, a good game still though.

The PS3 also tends to get a lot of exclusive content, ACII came with some extra levels, Mafia II came with extra missions, UFC Unleashed had exclusive content, MK9 had exclusive kontent, Bioshock did as well, and so did Red Dead Redemption. PS3 gets a lot of things that people tend to look over as well.

The PS3 is worth it, but sometimes having two major consoles leads to neglecting the other and if you have no friends with a PS3 then going online isn't as enjoyable as going online with your already established XBox Live friends.

It all comes down to your friends in the end.

There are plenty of great games on the PS3. It is more than worth it. There will also be 20 exclusives coming out on the PS3 this year.

If you are new to PS3, then it is worth it even more so. You have missed out on great games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Demon's Souls, and many more.

If you just bought the good exclusives that have came out over the last few years, you would have one hell of a collection of games.

Pffft the only good Metal Gear game was the first one.

I'd go for the xbox 360. You get a new game you put it in the drive and off you go. I rent alot of my games from love film and it just takes so long for me to get a new game to play on the PS3.

PS3 does have more exclusives though just depends on if they are games you want. I'm looking forward to the ICO and Shadow of the colossus release.

If only they'd remake Final Fantasy 7 for the PS3 I'd be a happy fellow.

He already said that he has a 360, he was wondering if he should invest in a PS3 as well.

But I think everyone can agree on one thing and that's the fact that playing online is a lot better with your friends and if you have no friends with a PS3 then you're going to have less fun.

So what's the cut off for getting a console based on a security breach and lack of online capabilities? Should I have gotten rid of my xbox 360 when xbox live was down for two weeks in 2008? Also on a less scale security breach, be weary of those potential phishing attempts via title specific messaging while playing Modern Warfare 2 on the 360.

Or you could sell your xbox and all xbox games (keep one gamepad) and buy yourself a pc. It costs the same as ps3 and you get the best gaming platform.

I already own a decent PC, it used to be high end 2 years ago, but its falling behind lately

Wantonly ignoring the main question here, I'd like to say that I finally picked up a DSi a few months ago. I was concerned that it was frivolous since I only really wanted it for, well, the same games as you. However, I've got hours and hours of use out of it already. Get the DS! The PS3, hmm, I'd say shop around for bargains. I got mine for free by entering into a phone contract, and then cancelling all the 'free' extras they snuck in on me before the charges kicked in. Savvy shopping success.
