I am confused by Heatsinks in terms of there value and if they are destroyed.
The intro rule book does not clarify this very well.

Example.
The hunchback lists 13 single heatsinks.
On the critical to hit table the Hunchback has 5 heat sinks. If one is destroyed how many heat sinks do I loose in terms of the 13 single heat sinks?

Or
The Trebuchet
It has 10 single heatsinks but none are represented on the critical to hit table... does that mean it can never have its heatsinks destroyed

Ten "free" heat sinks come with the engine and some are inside the actual engine. Divide the engine's power by 25 to see how many heat sinks are internal. For example, a 300 engine, like that found on a Marauder, would hold 12 heat sinks internally.

You need to look at Tech Manual or any other BattleMech construction info to find this out.

DWC has it correct.

In response to your first question about the Hunchback, if a heat sink suffers a critical hit, it no longer can be used to dissipate heat. So since your Hunchie has 13 and one takes a crit, it can now only dissipate 12 heat.

Thanks for the clarification guys.
I was reading the intro rule book and trying to make sense of it. Odd thing, it stated that if a heat sink is destroyed then you loose "3" on the chart
