Dual psyker doesn't seem a great HQ. Better a tooled CCS in a chimera.

Drop a sentinel to get both vets in chimeras. Drop the lascannons (they can't move and shoot them) and give them some melta/plasma instead.

Tank is very expensive with those plasma sponsons and range does not work well together for the cannon and plasma. Better to trim down, possibly drop some scout sentinels to multi lasers and maybe try for a 3rd vet squad in a chimera.

I see that you can put one P psyker with your forward vet squad. But what is your plan to get the 2ed in to the fight?

At this point level its not 100% necessary to load up all your units in to chimeras (although I do recommend it). A suggestion; to pull out he lascannon on your objective grabbing vets. Yes they can shoot out of the chimera with the las cannon but if the chimera moved, the unit inside counts as moved. Thus they cant shoot heavy weapons. Try loading them out with a melta.

The LR Vanquisher isn’t all that good. It designed to kill transports, but its very expincive unit to do so. If anti transport is what your after, then get some hydras. if you want real fire power you have a couple options. There are 3 LR variants that are nice. The standard LRBT is a nice option, keep it plain for long range anti power armor, or you can out fit it with plasma side sponsons or mid range over kill. LR demo is devastating in an aggressive IG list, no need to upgrade the demo cannon is all you need. And my personal favorite is the LR EXE, fit it out with plasma sponsons point and shoot, it will eat any troop easily.

If the LR doesn’t pack the firepower you need there are some options in artillery, the manticore probably puts out the most firepower in the codex. The medusa I’ve had luck with as well, in larger games it is a fantastic unit to kill off SM after there rhinos pop. And last is the griffin, they are cheep and work very well in killing off horde armies like orks. Or other IG, it may be low STR but it is OB it will hit side armor and will still wound most troops on a 2+

Missile launchers on sentinels has always been something I thought was useless; krak missiles are ok but you can only get 1 model per turn and frag are useless if fighting SM or MEQ because they still get a save. Try switching those to lascannons or autocannons.

I was kind of using the vanquisher as anti-heavy.

I have to agree with whats been said above, its over priced for what it does

oh yes yes yes, sorry i got my LR mixed up. but i still stand by my what i say about it being to over priced. it has one trick, and has a very poor chance to hit. if you want very long range anti tank i would look at the manticore, str 10 OB with d3 shots. as well it can be used on most all units well. the trcik is that it hits more, not better. it takes the 50/50 out that you have with the vanq

That makes a big difference, the EXE is a very wicked unit. I love it, may be a bit expinceve for this point level. I agree with that there are much better options then a ML on the walkers.

Yeah the main cannon is just awesome and with plasma cannon sponsons its just amazing.

BTW I like the sentinals but what should I run instead of the ML?

This comes in at 910. From here you could give your vet squads 3 plasma each or add another vet squad with a lascannon. You also have 4 orders so you can BiD with 4 twin-linked lascannon shots. Just be sure to find good cover as its a little light on scoring squishies.

Once again this is a 1000point. The CCS will be trying to keep up with the valkyries and issue orders to the vets while taking care of heavy infantry. The vets in the valkyrie will scout ahead and take out any nasty tanks. The leman russ will sit and shoot mainly monstrous creatures or hordes. The flak tank will pop transprts.

Any advice because I feel as this list has many flaws and I plan for a larger list with this being the forward team and a platoon holding back with a CCS as support however 1000 points is too smal for this.

may i suggest dropping the punisher for a standard leman russ? the battle cannon is possibly more effective here, if you look at your list you have plenty of anti infantry weaponry with the rocket pods and hydra flak tank, the battle cannon might give you the power needed to knock out a light vehicle at range

additionally the extra points may let you equip one of your valkyries with las?

Suggest the following:

1 drop carapace on the CSS - they're in the chimera
2 drop the power fist on the vets
3 drop pask and change the punisher for a tank with some anti-tank shooting.

This will allow you to get 2 more chimeras for the vets and keep to 1,000 points.

I agree, the Punisher may have 20 shots, but after rolling to hit on average only 10 will hit the wounding rolls wouldn't be too bad but your opponent will still get all of his saves. For the number of points that you are paying for the punisher your not getting your points worth. So I'd agree and suggest an Anti-tank tank instead.

This is a terrible point sink. I suggest one of two things here. Drop the tank and add in two more hydras and plasma stormies. Otherwise drop the hydra and exchange the punisher for two lrbt/exterminator and 45 pts to spent.

You can fire your Lascannon out of a Chimera if it doesn't move. It takes up two firing ports, so you can fire 1 heavy weapon and 3 special weapons (you have 5 firing ports). You ran't rapid fire your Plasmaguns if the Chimera moves.

I suggest you ditch the powerfists. With no armor or only Carapace armor at best, you will get hammered in hand to hand combat. It is only Str 6 to boot, so nothing to really fear. Your better off to accept your not great in hand to hand and anything you need the Fist for, your better off shooting with your Meltaguns.

I like the Carapace armor on your CCS, but only as a 'Gets Hot!' save or if your Chimera gets blown up to keep your squad alive. Otherwise it could be points to ditch.

I don't care one way or another about the Punisher, but I understand the idea of having a anti-hoard vehicle with 29 shots. Just remember BS 3 will hurt your effectivness and if you move your only firing one other weapon.

I gave it pask so it's BS4 and rerolling to wound agaisn't monstrous creatures if it doesn't move.

Ahh, didn't see Pask at first. Yeah, he makes it more leathal, but that tank is pretty expensive.

Just hope your troops don't get killed and you will do fine. You lose first turn and they blow up your Valks, your troops are not going to survive the explosion, nor probably pass thier moral check.

That is the big weakness in this list, even at 1kpts... you have 2 troops. Understand that weakness, guard them well. Because 2/3s of the games are objective games, they will have to go forward to take an objective and guard your own.
