Hello all. So this is a list I just threw together. I have loads of orks stuff but Ive never really played them so I decided to try them out at a local 1k point tourney coming up this weekend. Let me know what you think or if trukks are worth taking over large foot slogger units. thanks

I run a list very similar to this at 1k and seem to have alot of luck with it(I have bikes instead of kopters). But if your going to run trukks, you absolutely need a KFF mek, for smaller point games a warboss doesn't do that much(in my experiance).

For your boyz, drop the rokkits...your in a trukk list and your moving fast,By turn 2 you should be all over your opponent. Your PK nobs can take out any vehicles once there. Also, trukks lists work better with slugga boyz

Lootas are very good for lower point games.

You can outfit your trukks however you like, I usually add a ram, and with the dropped rokkits you can easily add them.(last ditch tank-shock/re-roll terrain tests are win).

You koptas are good as well, people might say three seperate squads but for low points you will probably have more killpoints than the enemy, and you dont want to give him more.

Again, you abosultely need a KFF Mek. AV10 is really bad and your going to need those cover saves.

So how does a kff Mek help all the trukks. Do I walk him in the middle of them for the cover or how does that work. So if not rokkits then should I use big shootas or just give them all sluggas and a power klaw nob and try to get onto cc ASAP and not worry with shootin except with the lootas. Other than that does the list look worthy at 1000 points or should I add a bike or buggy in place of something.

Put the Mek in a trukk, the range of the KFF is 6". So any vehicle in that bubble gets a 4+ cover save(5+ for infanty).

Just run the boyz with sluggas, and give the Nobs bosspoles. You will want to get your boyz stuck in as quickly as you can(shoot with your pistols when you can though). And have the lootas deals with vehicles and CC units.

You can keep the kopters. I would have all 3 with tl rokkits, but if you want to run the kustom blasta then do right ahead. The kopters are ment to A)draw fire B)assualt vehicles first turn or C) outflank(if you go secon)

With that you are good to go. As I said I run a list like yours and i've had luck with it(beat CSM, Eldar, and GK)

P.S. If you want it to be a bit more competative, try to find some room for 10 grots(around 40 points) to stay in reserve in order to hold some objectives late in the rounds. This give you the ability to commit all your boyz to the fight.

4. Lose the wreckin balls.
5. Put ram on wagons.

I managed to shoot two units to death actually (1 as I approached, the other after I'd assaulted with one set of boyz who fled on LD test).

Yep, a KFF mek is definetly needed here. I'm sure you can find the points for that, give the nobs bosspoles and split the deffkoptas into 3 units of 1, that way they'll effectively draw more fire.
