So I happen to know I'm getting a Stompa for my birthday in a month, and I was wondering which kind of stompa I should build. My army is mostly Speed Freeks, and the only super heavy I currently own is a Skullhamma (I fill it with boyz and a KFF and use it to spearhead my charge, my opponents always pour all of their firepower into it rather than the 5 trukks around it, which hold double the number of boyz ).

The only titans I come up against are a warhound (blastgun and turbolaser) and the smaller Eldar one, a phantom I think. The guy with the warhound also has a standard baneblade.

So, Stompa, Big Meks Stompa or Klawstompa? I was thinking a Klawstompa because I want it to be aggressive and in your face like the rest of my army

Thoughts?

Agree, the clawstompa is also faster than the others, so it would fit a cult of speed army. You'd best use the rules from IA:8, you can build any kind of stompa(inculding klawstompas) with them, you just have more options and cool upgrades.

Basically any stompa is viable, just chose the upgrades you think are the most fun and go with them.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Awesome. Might make it 750 points exactly and go one on one with the warhound

Take whichever Stompa gives you a Lifta-droppa - there's a guy at the local GW who is notorious in Apoc games for throwing people's Land Raiders on the first turn, tossing them into other people's Titans and shaking them. Lifta-droppas make Stompas an even more high-priority target than usual.

But dont they still have to hit?

I agree with going with a super custom stompa.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

I thought the direction on a lifta droppa was chosen by a scatter dice? Hardly reliable for throwing them into titans

Reliable? Pfft! These are Orks. Lifts-stompa is the way to go. Not for reliability, but for sheer awesome-sauce. We are always getting random tanks thrown around the board with these and it's hilarious.

The lifta-droppa is riduculous and amazing. Whichever you take, try to put a lifta-droppa on it. Of course, I personally prefer the bigmek's stompa.

Just build the stompa with swappable parts...

Unless you're a terrible modeller, magnetise the arms/weapons so you can swap them - it's pretty easy to do at construction time.

Lifta Droppa is the way to go! I play guard and there is nothing more annoying than having my russ thrown into a land raider and breaking. So go for it!

OK, I think I'll just magnetize the arms and see what works for me

Thats the spirit. And since the parts are so damn big, itll be easier for you to magnetize them.

Ive never played APOC, but Ive read a few battle reps where the lifta droppa has chucked tanks all over the place. Its not only awesomely hilarious but it can do alot of damage
