If you take the Land raider dedicated transport option, but have seconded out all your wolf guard, can you put one of those squads in it? ie. you take 3 WG, give 2 to your grey hunters (2 different squads) and 1 to your Blood Claws, can you then put your BC in a LRC as a dedicated transport?

I would think you'd have to get a LRC for the Blood Claws in order for them to get on it at the outset of the game.

Nothing wrong with hiding your BC's behind the LRC and jumping them in on your first turn. If its dawn of war deployment you can jump them in off the table *I think*

but I'm really not sure. How does it normally work with lending other units your dedicated transports?

You see there's the problem. A member of the unit that bought the dedicated transport is part of the squad trying to use it. And they're all part of other units at the moment.
Most of the time I'm ok with just jumping them in first turn then zooming on ahead. But I'd prefer to put them in right at the beginning just in case I can pull off that first turn charge. With the luck I've been having though, I've been thinking of just going with the LRR, a WP and WGPL and a full squad of GH kitted out for assault. But all those attacks if I use the BC's... tasty

Only the unit it was bought for can start the game in it. A wolfguard stuck in another squad is not the squad it was bought for, sadly.

FAQ covers this. WHne you put a WG into another unit, he is no longer partr of the WG unit in any way, shape or form

Nope. The pack leader is no longer a member of the unit that the transport was bought for.

Does that mean you could buy a unit of 10 WG, put 9 of them into other packs and then buy 9 more for the original pack, therefore saving an Elite slot, since they are no longer part of that pack?

No since the squad size is 3-10. Even if you assign them to other squads, they still come from one unit slot originally.

You assign to other units at deployment, which is well after you have created your list. So, no is the short answer!

Oh well. Thanks. I guess I'm not getting that first round charge unless i'm paying a HS slot for them.
