I recently got ALOT of money for graduating about 1,300 in all Im now down to 743............... Where did I spend all this money, on 40k of course. Ive never spent this much money on something like this and I think my mother shall strangle my body then my soul hahaha. How did you guys (aand hopefully girls) get the funding to make an army or even many armies? And do you ever get discouraged from it?

I build the army list that I want, and then buy those models.

Buy to a list, it's the only way to get a cost-efficient (hah) army.

As for getting discouraged, yeah, I think most people do occassionally when they work out costs and time for an army. But you've gotta keep riding that tiger if you want to succeed!

My COOP/internship at Cisco definitely helped with funding! I buy from my FLGS that offers 10% off regularly and now is giving 30% off for our slow grow league to start a new army. $46 Stormravens for GK's? Yes please!

To echo everyone else, create a list and proxy it with some other models and play test it until you have it to where you want it. Then buy the models. I suggest buying a few extra models so that you can move up in points values and do conversions. Maybe an extra box of infantry for your army.

Also I've been purchasing off of Amazon with some pretty decent prices I've bought 2 rhinoes, 2 boxes of sniper scouts, 2 boxes of assault Marines, a box of terminators, a box of tactical Marines and 12 paints

Anyway, the trick is moderation. I've been in the position more than once of being in the LGS, wallet in hand, weighing it up. More often than not, if you REALLY need to think about it, you shouldn't.

Try not to spend it in one place.
