I've had this idea to convert a warbike to have 1 long tank tread instead of 2 wheels. This is rough mock up of the shape I was planning.

What do you think of the basic shape?

What do you think of the tread height, should it be a little taller?

Any C&C on the basis design is appreciated. And yes I realize that this kind of bike would be almost impossible to steer. But da Boss don't care, cuz e' tink it look kool.

Excellent concept! What would you be putting where the top red box is, the small one?

Thanks for the feedback

That's just a small fender to hide the original tread. I'd probably use it as a mount for the Shootas, or run some scratchbuilt exhaust pipes along there.

I'm challenging myself to convert the Warbike with cutting any plastic off the original plastic. The only original part I' plan on modify so far is the Ork's legs, they'll have to be spread wider for the new footrests.

About the steering, a split in the center would clear that up. You could always stuff something orky down there too if it was wider than you like. Like a lil mek grot or gretchin (I think they make everything look better riding around fixing things though), in case something gets stuck in the treads. That might make things a lil large though.

I'd make the track height slightly taller, but that depends what you'll be building it from - do you know yet? Personally I'd suggest the old IG tank wheels and tracks (if you can find them) as an easy option, but depends what's in your bits box.

Re steering, so long as the tracks were flexible (or loose), then a mechanism to push the middle road wheel from side to side would give reasonable turning. Or be really orky and have a big mechanical spike that digs into the ground to slow on side down Doesn't really matter of course, but you can guarantee someone will complain that it can't steer, so better to have an answer ready for them...

Still tinkering with the design on paper, but I haven't purchased the Warbike model or the plasticard yet. I have to pay for my fall classes I just register for, before I can buy what I need and get started. How soon I can start will depend on whether or not I qualify for the Fee Waiver I just applied for.

Thanks for the interest, I'll be sure to update as soon as I get started.

I want to see if this can be pulled off, I have ideas for one of my own...

I probably should finish all the other projects I have first though...
