Hey guys currently I am building my Nids army, and after I had finished my first box of hormagaunts, and since I still have to strip my 9 ripper bases (thankyou ebay) in the mean time I started building my warriors. I only have one built so far, but of the 3 this is definitely the coolest one I get to do. so here you go guys, I present to you the W.I.P of my tyranid prime
Im still relatively new to using greenstuff and converting so this was quite a treat, I used alot of spikes and bones from some ogre kingdoms and orc sprues I had laying around.

but go ahead and check it out for yourselves





Lemme know what you guys think of it, I converted bone swords from a couple ogre kingdoms swords and a bit of greenstuff, I also added some tusks and a horn on the head of the Prime from some spikes and bones I got off some orcs n goblin stuff.

Looks really good. The only thing thats really bugging me is the swords, specifically the pieces that are riveted onto it....not too organic.

Shave those off and i think it will look alot more convincing.

Agreed - unless you have some unusual army fluff that would explain riveted swords, those swords need to look more organic.

Similarly, not sure about the trophy skulls either - normal Nids don't take trophies.

Otherwise looking good.

you guys have a point, well I'll have to take those rivets off and the trophy rack, I wasnt too sure on what I could do to make an tyranid prime with what I had I guess the tusks/horns/spikes/boneswords and the heightened pose I put it in will be enough to tell its a prime

Yeah it looks really good apart from the swords, as the riveted pieces look too manufactured for 'nids. However I do like the skull trophies, I know it's an unusual thing for 'nids to have, but I think it adds character, and the primes are more intelligent, possibly a reason for a build in character.

Also, are the arms different sizes? If so why not make the smaller arm into a lashwip, and leave the larger, stronger arm to the hulking bonesword?

lol yea theyre too different sizes, one of them is the rending claw arm that I cut the claws off and reset them to look like they were gripping the sword. I wouldve done a whip if I knew how to make a good looking one

Use a stiff wire and bend it to the whip shape you want. Then build up the shape in green stuff and smooth out any marks with water. At a few claws or flesh hooks on the end to give a more tyranid look.

There should be a few tutorials here on dakka for that kinda thing.

Im just gonna remove the small arm and put the other rending claw arm on there and add the sword to it, but thanks for the advice

The swords are nice except for the rivet bits. You could cover them up with green stuff and make it look like teeth growing out of the edge of the sword.
