Simple as that, do you think a mostly Haemonculi-based army could be competitive?
Of course there would have to be other things to be taken in, personally I think the Talos and Chronos sound interesting.
Admittedly, I'm not a DE player myself (...yet), but I've had a few glances at the codex and the Wracks, Grotesques and the Haemonculi have seriously piqued my interest (mostly because I'm a regular Eldar player and they seem like they're the most different from what CWE offer).
Maybe I'm totally wrong and they are boring as hell and totally remind of CWE, but hey, then do notify me.

I really like the idea of a all coven army based around Haemies, grotesques, wracks, and talos/chronos. I think the models are all pretty striking. I just can't find a way to put it all together that seems competitive to me.

I usually take Haemies to pass off their pain token to my wyches. I'm not sold on wracks over taking wyches/warriors/trueborn. Same for grotesques. The talos seems like an effective model, but a ravager is so good it's hard to pass up.

At a gaming club or friendly games, I bet that list could do some serious damage and definitely change your group's meta a bit. I couldn't knowledgeably comment on tournament play, but to me it seems like unless you're playing Long Fang spam, you won't win..

Personally I find the Grotesques with their T5 and automatic FNP neat, but of course this may just be the squishy Eldar player in me speaking.
And then of course there is the drawback of them going nuts and killing everything close to them... such joyous fun.

I like haem covens although I find them best used with raiders running about to transport everyone into assault range or have a few units with WWP in raiders to make sure its in a good spot. If you're going pure Haem force, be wary of mech armies as you wont have too much range to take them out

I think the biggest obstacle to fielding this type of army is the fact that a minimum sized Grotesque unit costs $66.00 USD.

If you want/need to use official models of course. I'm content with using various ogre/rat ogre parts with spare DE parts
