There is no direct equivalence.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Okay, so theres no direct equivalence but according to that is about the same as GCSE's I'm guessing thats GCSE's A*-C.

In terms of average age attended, yes. In terms of what you are actually doing while enrolled, no.

The closest equivalent is the GCSE, which is in large part why American public schools are looked down upon. You guys basically get a two year head start on everyone from the states who isn't privately educated.

The only help I can give you is that I would urge you to ensure that your job application is checked thoroughly for errors in spelling and grammar.

You're welcome.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

5 A-C grade GCSEs is the closest I've found when discussing this with people in the past.

Yeah, your education system uses a much more thorough, and honestly far superior, method of grading students so US universities generally require fewer really solid corroborating materials when admitting English students. Basically, your grades just mean more to admissions than ours do.
