I've seen a lot of models here on Dakka with drilled barrels, and they look classy as hell. Thing is though, I'm kinda hesitant about putting a drill to my precious models.

So, if anyone has advice on how to do that I'd love to hear it.

Things like, what drill bit sizes to use for different guns, where to get them (I might already have some, who knows?) and the technique for drilling, would be appreciated.

Some of the things I'd like to drill include:

- Assault Cannons - on Dreadnoughts and LRRs.
- Bolters and Storm Bolters
- Meltas and Multi-Meltas
- Lascannons
- Exhaust vents and smokestacks and such.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

I have tutorials on my blog - the sternguard and predator tutorials both cover drilling (of bolters and smokestacks respectively).

Could you provide me a link to the article itself? I looked through the blog in your sig and I couldn't find the page. EDIT: Found it. Silly me. Thanks much!

On a related note, your Elysian Droptroops are kickass - I'm starting some up myself.

I made a big equation (at least for me) to figure this out.
To cut down on the BS, 1.3mm for exact bore size.
I could give the process for finding it if be needed.
