hey Dakka...

after a nine month break to move to Mexico, and get my surf shop runnin' smoothly(check out the new website: http://www.quiverito.com/ ), i'm back with a new mini...
it takes a while to get back in the swing of slappin' paint, and i really feel rusty...
my photography has definitely taken a step backward...

for this commission i was asked to use the studio scheme, and take it to the next level...
not sure if i pulled it off, but the addition of a Voodoworx.UK display base definitely helps the presentation...
anyway, here he is, giant hammers and all, with a face only a mother could love...

please pop over and give him a vote:

Nice to see you back and posting again jah. Lovely work on Hexeris, looking forward to seeing what else you get done.

Can I suggest skipping forward 10 years to the age where you don't really care about what people say on the internet. Studies show that it decreases your anger about life in general by 37%. - Flashman

Definitely not a fan of the base, but that's my problem. You did an excellent job on the miniature. Everything is really crisp.Toning down the gold really makes it look menacing. I find the bone claws on the back to be done extremely well. I've tried to get that look over and over to no avail. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

That is lovely.

My only comment would be that the fabric 'banners' hanging from his back don't match the vibrancy of the robe in the richness of the red, but that might very well be the lighting of the photo. (second image from the bottom).

The armour edging is superb. The understated base is also spot on.
