Subject: Jetbike Seer council.....3+/4+ invul or just 4+ invul?

When it comes to most rules, what the book says literally is what the rule is. There is no room for interpretation and if it is in question, you consult the errata. Under the HQ selection for farseers and warlocks, they have a save of - ...that is no armour save. Giving them a jetbike does not confer a bonus 3+ armour save according to every entry on the subject of jetbikes. It grants you a +1 toughness. That is all. However, under the troops selection, you can take a warlock to accompany your guardian jetbikes. This clearly states that this particular unit selection does have a 3+ save. Why? Because the book is dated as hell and is completely wrong. Guardian Jetbikers should not even get a 3+ armour save. Why the hell would they? Do Dark Eldar Reavers get a magical armour bonus? no. Therefore, no matter what you may think or how you choose to interpret the rules, the HQ selection of Warlocks on Jetbikes (and farseers for that matter) DO NOT gain an imaginary armour bonus. Even still, what do you think about this rule and the fact that it is not addressed in the errata?

I am The Fury. The flames of my rage will incinerate you. I came back from space. As I returned, I had one vision. The world set ablaze. And do you know what I saw there? (he aims his flamethrower upwards and incinerates a group of bats) Fury! A great and terrible Fury at being alive. Now you're going to feel the scorching heat of that horrible blackness. |

You need to read page 40 under Eldar Jetbike where it says that it "Increase the rider's toughness +1, and in addition confer a 3+ armor save to the rider."

nice. Well played. It's rules like these that made me stop playing with my Eldar to begin with. My original army. Even I had to admit that the rules are silly. Under artcle 5, section d it clearly states that they do recieve a magical inexplicable armour bonus! Should have read the fine print. Thanks.
