A member of an honour guard may carry a company banner or chapter banner, and the model is usually represented holding the banner pole in one hand and a bolter in the other. With that, I would assume that the pole doesn't take up a weapon space (i.e. the bolter is a two handed weapon). I know it would be irregular, but would anything prevent a marine to carry the banner while equipped with a pair of lightning claws and a jump pack?

No. A banner does not prevent you from taking any of the options available to the model.

I don't think it would prevent him from equipping a 2-handed weapon or 2 one handed weapons or a one handed and two handed weapon. It would be hard to fight in an assault while holding it, though. I like to think that he stabs the banner pole deep into the earth with mighty space marine strength during the assault. You could also create a familiar to hold the banner while he fights. I instantly thought of St Celestine's cape brandishing cyber-cherubs as being the perfect model for this. Especially in a Blood Angels Honour Guard.

Thanks guys. I didn't think there was an issue, just wanted to make sure. Eye of Terror, I like your idea of the Cheribum. That will be added to the list of options. Btw Im doing an all lightning claw honor guard. The next hardest thing to figure will be having the exanguinator on the lighning claw for one hand and the chalice in the other(sanguinary initiate). Then again there is a pic of a blood chalice mounted on a shoulder pad in the codex....hmmm. Or maybe mount the medical equipment on a servo arm.
