so the purpose of this is to guage exactly how many Finecast models are coming up with problems and not how many people are getting miscast models.

Minor problems will be classified as:

bent weapons and small air bubbles. easily heated and put back into shape or filled with greenstuff/left alone.

Major Problems would be:

massive air bubbles, Weapons or body parts horribly deformed such that they can't be bent into shape. models that require a replacement.

Note: models that are missing completely do not belong here as that is an issue not related to the actual quality of the models. missing sprues also do not belong here.

I hope, for the sake of 40k gaming in general, that these things are significantly better than Forgeworld. I've been hugely dissatisfied with significant purchases I've made from FW and the extensive heating/bending/greenstuff/chopping(yes, chopping)/filing/carving necessary to get some of this stuff ready for tabletop.

The hobby can only bear so many 'sorry billy, but that model you got is total sh!t' at $20 a pop.

The "I haven't bought any, but here's what I heard" choices are completely irrelevant to what you're trying to find out.

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

It's interesting to see the general feeling in the community though. Sometimes perception is more important than reality.

@Nerivant: actually they arn't.

they sift the people who are simply repeating what they heard. it seperates the Hearsay from the actual data.

Damn Finecast to the sickening depths of the Warp along with the other spawn and Mat Lucas!

I have bought about 6 models and found that only one didn't have any probs. I have had to change all of the others and needed to change one model twice! I have only found one FC model which might have better detail than good old metal - Huron Blackheart's leg arrows. Everything else appear the same if not slightly worse than metal. I really wish that GW would ditch crappy FC and stick with the materials which have served the world of modelling and gaming ever since it started. For the hype and cost of FC, I don't expect to have to deal with the level of shoddy rubbish I have found so far.

I HATE finecast

Except that since the topic only deals with people who actually purchased a the models, the people in those three categories shouldn't be placing their opinion at all.

Why sift out the meaningless information when you can just keep the meaningless information out?

I would also still suggest having a YAK style poll - how many people voted without seeing the definitions? With simple "A", "B", etc you avoid those issues.

so far 6 models, all fine. And if youre having to chop with FW, ring them and tell them - their CS has always been fantastic, special delivery - ing a couple missing pieces from a revenant id bought for my husband 6 months prior that he'd only just started getting together...

Bought a box of 5 Sword Brethren. The only issues I had were:
Slight mold slip on the lightning claw man, and extra material on the claws.
Deformed head on one (was replacing heads with helmets anyway).
Bent power sword.

All easily fixed. Overall reassured.
