So my brother and I play Axis and Allies Minis, but are looking for a game with more depth. Flames of War has caught my eye but I would like to wrap my head around it before investing in it. As I understand it, when you shoot you need to roll a die. And how well your oppenents army is trained, will determine what you need to roll to hit. But, what do you do then? Does my oppenent get to roll to see if he is dead or simply surpressed?

PS. I'm not ready to invest in a game I don't know how to play. So I really don't want to buy their overpriced rulebook just yet.

You roll a save for the model hit. If you cause five hits then an infantry platoon will be pinned. Being pinned makes the models RoF 1 and it cannot advance towards the enemy.

Thanks, that actually helped a lot. I guess I'll just post another question here rather than making another thread. I've decided to get flames of war and play as the Afrika Korps. (still deciding if I want to be a parachute company or mechanized infantry) But, does anyone where I could buy some cheap DAK infantry to use with flames of war.
