I'm planning on playing a friendly game against a friend and he plays Space Wolfs. Basically he has spent the last few days painting Canis Wolfborn which is an amazing model. I think he will probably include him in his force as we are playing 2000 points.

Basically i know nothing about the character or his rules so wondered if someone could give me a summary of what he can do on the tabletop and what I should watch out for it he fields him. I know nothing about space wolfs so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Feed him a dreadnought and he should be gone. He'll struggle to harm it whilst it can ID him.

I've described how I'd recommend using Canis in my tactica so you could work around that. In a nutshell however he shreds infantry, but is vulnerable to high-strength and/or numerous power weapons.

Just one other thing: Canis can make wolf pack troop choices.
Now, since wolf packs can NEVER claim objectives, it's rarely seen on the table, but he can do it if he wants.
As far as Canis himself goes, he tears infantry into little pieces, but has to rely on rending to scratch vehicles.
No invulnerable save though, so all MEQ killers are good to use on him, but it will take 10 Str to ID him since his base toughness is 5.

He can mop up infantry, but assault-oriented units should be able to defeat him.

On an unrelated note, Canis is the only SW Special Character I still need to get...
