I've come into contact with a painting speedbump and I can't seem to figure out how to go about painting this effect.

The effect in question is: A glowing yellow.

The best example I can give of how I want it to look it like looking at a light bulb. Its so bright and glowing that its almost white, but its still got that yellow tint.

So can someone help me with this problem? What would be the best way to aproach this?

Could you be more specific about what you are trying to paint?

Are you talking about object source lighting, like this...

Or something else?

By the looks of it white, with a light dry brushing of bleached bone. Sort of how you would if you were doing OSL mentioned above. Might mix some yellow into it to make the tips progressively darker, but the yellow in that picture is a little pale so maybe not.

Yeah I would go white, as white as you can for the feet and then try to fade/blend it out by drybrushing a tiny bit up the leg. Then charge to your secondary colour (the colour you want for the glow halo)...(Yellow you say?) and start dry brushing that slightly further up, blending it out even more. Should work the same for the wings.

A tip might be to also mix your secondary colour with a little bit of white, especially if it is yellow. White has better coverage than yellow so it will make it a bit more opaque as you paint it. If you dry brush with just yellow it has a tendency to end up too thin and look like a dirty brown.

Another thing I would suggest if you can do it... is to repeat the same dry brush technique on the base around each foot so it really looks like the foot is lighting up its surroundings.
