Hi, i was wondering how likely do you think it would be for space marine forces to deploy to a world/war zone at less than company strength on purpose, such as a squad or 2 or even a single marine as can be seen in Iron Snakes.

Iron Snakes is a touch dodgy for this IMO...

A company would deploy under strength if they have taken casualties and haven't yer replaced them.

2 Squads... possibly, it would be for a very specific duty or possibly a symbolic deployment.

Gathering the Informations.

The Damocles Gulf Crusade deployment of Astartes was all of 96 Astartes(that is 96 individual Marines), by the most reliable accounts.

So yeah. I'd say it's possible. There's nothing saying Marines have to travel in company formations all the time. If it's a case of there's squads nearby doing nothing and the Navy/Guard want some Astartes support and the Astartes want to join in--I can't see a reason why not.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

it isn't uncommon for a marine chapter to be spread out over long distances.

if its a small problem, a single squad of marines is often more then sufficient to quell it.

a minor uprising can be halted simply by the appearence of a marine.

its easy to rebell against an Imperium you can't see. but if you are able to see that dred silouette. the outline of Power Armor. see the harsh glow of eye lenses. hear the clank of bolters chambering their rounds. that'll put the fear of the God Emperor into you.

Marines occupy a place between myth and legend among the Imperiums Citizens. When the legend and myth comes crashing into reality, it makes everything else seem so real.
