if you had to choose a squad of them which would you choose, tankbustas or lootas? I know they both have their place (thats why they dont have one or the other in the codex) but what would you choose against Space Marines (blood angels) or Tau (farsight enclave)?

My little brother wants a squad of one or the other and I'm not that keen on Orks (I know the basics but not the finer math-hammer details)

I think he should get tank bustas for the assault weapons that munch power armor. What do you all think?

Lootas.

Every time I see lootas across the table they are my number one target or my mobility will be crippled. Lootas destroy rhinos like a hot knife through butter

lootas hands down are one of the best things in our codex.. tank busters are fun but there's somthign about having a full squad of 15 lootas get out 45 str 7 ap4 shots out with 48 inch range all at 225 points

tank busas are more expensive and very situational... but i will someitmes proxy em for something different... they rarely accomplish much though

Lootas PERIOD. The only place for tank bustas is not on the table top.

This may sound harsh however, thanks to their glory hogs rule it completely hamstrings them ( tank bustas). One landspeeder can invalidate them all game.

Lootas are decent anti tank.

The prevailing wisdom is to take 3 5 man squads. This allows to split targets as well as mitigate their low leader ship. ( by keeping the squads cheap then what ever is hooting at them most likely costs a lot more than they do.)

depends on the list but the rule is actually take 5 or 15. you take 15 so thanks to mob rule you pass checks if you lose a few helpign them last longer. you take 5 if you want them to be low poins and less of a priority knowing if you lose 2 you will be potentially running off the table

i ran this last weekend... enough dakka for 1250?

wow so it's lootas all the way it seems. I guess I can see haw a Land Raider could also cripple tankbusta because they can only glance with awful odds.

well tank bustas can glance but in melee you can take tank hammers for str 10 hits... but really the ultimate can opener for orks are powerklaws, a warboss or ghaz with a pk will rip open AV14 liek butta (even a nob w/ a pk is str 9 on the charge so there is a good with 4 str 9 hits)


our other AV14 option is a deffrolla... ram it, D6 str 10 hits plus the ram av14 vs av14

mobile dakka, i like it, i just don't personally enjoy playing kan walls unless i am using moving trays to move them the 6 inches.. i'm impatient >_<

Opponents are often scared when they face Lootas.
They are one of the best anti-light-tank units in the game.
