So I was told the other day that if I went 12 inches in my Battlewagon deffrolla'd some stuff then after all of that dis-embarked my troops, that I was not allowed to dis-embark after a tank shock/ ram, now I have yet to find this in the rulebook(I forgot to ask where he saw the rule). Is this true? Oh and my BW is opentopped too.

Well, if the BW is a fast vehicle then you can not Disembark after a Ram, since you have to move at the highest possible speed. (If it moved flat out)

For a tank shock you first declare how far you are going to move, so if you move 12 inches or less, and the vehicle is open topped you could assault afterward.

The BW is not fast. You count as moving 12" so you can disembark.

You could also disembark from a fast vehicle if the tank shock or ram ended before reaching flat-out speed.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

You don't count as moving 12". If you tank shock 3", you count as moving 3", etc.

You have to move as fast as possible - until you hit something. If you ram an enemy vehicle after 5" and stop, then you moved at combat speed. The "how fast did my vehicle go" question depends on how far you actually moved - go read the description for moving Flat Out (it requires you to move 12"-24"). It's the same reason that a Fast Skimmer cannot claim the 'obscured' special rule after ramming at 12" or less.

What Jidmah said is correct.
