Splattered With Acrylic Paint

[spoiler]I'm wondering if anyone can help me? I'm wanting to find a simple way to attach a metal figure to a piece of painted slate. Short of drilling and pinning it I wonder if anyone knows of a decent adhesive I could use instead to save my lazy ass a bit of time?

A little dab of 5 minute araldite does the trick, usually.
You should pin onto slate though - it tends to flake when knocked, and you can find your mini pulls off a layer of slate. A good deep pin puts the stress across multiple layers of the slate and tends to stop that happening.

Yeah thought that would be the case. I guess a high speed steel drill bit will do the job of drilling slate?

Just use a hand drill, and slowly and carefully

Cool. Thanks to your advice I plucked up the courage to get the Dremel drill out and pinned the little fella with relatively no stress. Except the amount of dust that got everywhere ha ha. Turns out manmade slate is well easy to drill. Thank you again for your help. I figured it'd be manufactured slate (garden slate tends to be this). It's very soft and crumbly; really does need pinning.
