Wondering the current status of the planet, like who controls which ruins, I mean Hives, and who controls other areas of the planet.

As far as we know, it's largely in Imperial hands, but there is still fighting on the surface due to a constant supply of Ork reinforcements who see the planet as a legendary place where there is always a fight to be had.
Ghazghkull Thraka is no longer on the planet itself, with the majority of his horde destroyed or off world, with Yarrick and a good portion of The Black Templars in constant pursuit.

Basically, at the end of the campaign, most of the Hives on Armageddon were still in imperial hands. The only Hive that fell was Tempestora (because of those ork submarines). And when the timeline stopped in 999 M41, the Imperium had gathered enough resources and forces to lay siege to ork-held Tempestora, containing the green-skins and preventing them from reinforcing other fronts.

The last reports on the situation around Tempestora stated that a strike force of three different SM chapters was being assembled to retake the hive.

On the other hands, the orks controlled vast territories far from the fortified hives (the equatorial jungles and the plains of Anthrand for example).

They also still keep a massive fleet in the Armageddon system (although the imperials also have a massive fleet ), which allowed them to conquer the world of Chosin (the planet right next to Armageddon).

Basically its in a massive plot stalemate. However, Orks enjoy a stalemate much more then humans do.

The Imperium has effectively won... but then GW Hammer timed the universe so go figure...

The status should when Gharzkull left Snikrot is in charge and he has been doing pretty well in armageddon a churning battlefield. Which was thraka's plan in the first place

It is going to take a long time for the ig to clean up the planet while millions of orks still flock to armageddon. you gotta hand it to Ghazghkull Thraka, he said he would give the orks "Da bestest fight eva" and he dilivered
