Scenario:

Fire Prism is sitting behind a squad of infantry (in this case, Orks as we were on the same team) and fires it's gun at an enemy unit. Does the enemy unit receive a cover save from the unit of Orks?

I disagreed on this due to the fact that the gun wasn't firing through the unit since it sat high enough on the hull to go over the unit itself.

I'm still a relatively new player, and from a TLoS perspective, it was a clear shot in my opinion, so should have prevented any sort of cover save.

Thoughts?

Get down and look: do the infantry obscure the target unit?

Only you can answer this. If they are firing OVER they are not firing THROUGH, and therefore no cover save

This is exactly the argument I used, we were even able to use a laser pointer from the tip of the gun and it clearly painted the target. But, my opponent stated that it was still firing through an intervening unit.

This wasn't the only issue we had, there were a few other disputes that went poorly. It was his house though, so I didn't make too much of a fuss about it.

Cheating is cheating.

Over is not through.
