How many times have you tried to shoot an Immobile vehicle, just to roll a 2 and miss the shot?

There should there be an automatic re-roll when firing at immobile vehicles, or adding one to the die roll to hit immobile vehicles, or both.

Lets face it, hitting something that is moving flat out on a 3+ or 4+ and hitting something that is immobile on a 3+ or 4+ is just silly.

Think about it, you aren't just trying to hit a stationary vehivle, you're also trying to stay alive, see through cover/smoke, keep your head down, plus other factors which make using regular BS more realistic than auto-hits.

Because, like DeathReaper said, BS and the 'to hit' roll is much much more than just the accuracy of the guy shooting the gun.

The biggest thing is the reliability of the weapon. Maybe when you rolled a 1, the guy who shot popped up, pulled the trigger, and his gun jammed. Or needed to be reloaded. Or something.

Besides, at long range, even hitting a stationary target isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world.

I would be open to a re-roll or +1 to BS. But not automatic hits.

Even that is a asking for a lot. Even if you're shooting at a stationary vehicle you have to deal with supressive fire from other sources, smoke and other such things clogging up the battlefield, not to mention issues with the weapon itself.

If you want range and size to be a factor in how easy your target is to hit, go play Necromunda.

Uncalled for remark removed. Please be more polite when dealing with other posters in future please.

Besides, a tank moving flat out gets a cover save IIRC. Hence the difference between stationary and moving.

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.
