I've decided I don't like the exposed piping on the rear of my two DA venerable dreads. I want to do some kind of cape or draped down material hanging on it.

Any ideas? So far all I've got is what I'd use for rolled up tarps and use glue-coated paper.

Well that would be all over the thing in that case. Not just hanging down behind it, y'know?

That little tiny bottom part is what I'm trying to just completely and utterly cover up.

It's a toss-up at this moment between getting plasticard and making a 'set' of rear armour just covering it or making a robe/tabard hanging down from the rear.

The tubes down at the bottom. I ordered the plasticard in the end, so we'll see how a kind of 'gearbox' look bulking up the rear will be.

First order of business is to cut the tubes off now.

Oh the 4 glowy tubes, why do you want them covered?

I have heard of using green stuff to make cloaks/ capes,
I would think the larger scale of a dread would be easier than putting them on Bretonnian Knights like I saw.

Terribad as in you don't like the design or as in the resin is messed up? I bought a FW dread a long time ago and had a bad time cleaning it up there where it came out of the mold.

The resin was fine, there was a gap but that would have been easy enough to fix.

I just didn't like the way it looked in the end.

You could make a "cape" of sorts from a plastic standard if you're not too good with sculpting (like me). I used the small personal standards as a front crotch tabard on my dreads but you could use the larger ones that come with the plastic kits like GK or BA Sanguinary Guard as long as you trim down the pole to follow the cloth lines.

why not make a heatsink? like on the back of the sentinels? On other dreadnoughts (based aroudn the sister of battle walking chair) I created an ammunition belt running to the weapon arms, and power feeds, etc. I imagine you wouldn't be fond of danglies on the model though.

If you are up to the challenge: mechanicum shrine. two little cubbies on either side with a shrine in the middle.
