finally after a long time plaing on totally undersized kitchen or livingroom tables, i forced myself to build a modular gaming table.
i used 3 polystyrene boards(24x48x2inch), which i cut in half to get 6 equal pieces. after that i drilled 3 holes in each tile. the tiles are held togheter
by wooden bolts.

i cut some craters and a trench into the board to provide some cover.

fiished table

can't wait to play the first game on it.

Looks a little plain to me man, it's very cool though.
I would suggest throwing some hills and stuff on it, like what GW does with their table...but better.
I assume from the paintjob that your going for an urban setting? so add some roads and buildings and you'll have a decent start. but if you add massive cliffs and gulleys to put your buildings in. then you've got a bad arse table

Then completely ignore what I said. it'll look awesome. a Finished picture with buildings and possibly armies on it would be cool.

This looks promising, what kind off battlefield will it be? With a boardthat big I'd love to recreate the Vietnamese city of Hue, which if you if look at pictures of the it's a giant square ancient wall surrounding a modernish city with a river running through it. Marines were barred from calling in air or artillery support most of the battle so most buildings were mostly intact. Enough room to send tanks but really a city fight scenario.
