Hi guys n gals!

So I'm being sent to Stokholm for a few days by work from the 15th June to the 18th. Do any of you kindly Swedes on here know of some good LGS in the area?
Or pubs for that matter?

Thanks in advance Sarpedons-Right-Hand....

Suppose the Games Workshop at Mäster Samuelsgatan is good, although that isn't realy a drop-in-and-play LGS. I would recommend Dragons Lair at Kungsholmstorg 8: http://www.dragonslair.se/index-en.php

Somewhere in south-central England.

You can find many shops on the DakkaDakka Store Finder which I am happy to say includes both the shops mentioned.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Thanks Kilkrazy, hadn't thought of looking there, I can be pretty dumb sometimes!

Check out Sci-Fi Bokhandeln as well. They have friendly staff, and a good selection of english books and geek-stuff. Tabletop section is a bit meagre, but it still is worth a visit if you have the time. (www.sfbok.se / Västerlånggatan 48)

As far as pubs and restaurants, LMK what you're interested in. There's a pretty good selection of fine dining as well as more local joints.

Where will you be staying? If within Stockholm I'll hook you up with some places to eat lunch and have a coffee as well.

I'd definitely visit Debaser (check debaser.se to see if there's any bands playing) at the bridge between Gamla Stan (Old Town) and Slussen. Preferrably after visiting Sci-Fi Bok.

They have a pretty nice outside area with more contemporary indie music. Pretty young crowd though, but they serve Pims(!) and it's usually pretty relaxed (when it's not overcrowded).

I'd stay away from Gamla Stan and Drottninggatan, unless you want to do the tourist thingie.

Stureplan is the more upscale area for nightlife, to me it's kinda boring, but if you love that stuff (as well as standing in endless queues to get in) that's the place to go to with a ton of restaurants and clubs withing walking distance.

As said, LMK what you wanna do and I'll get you a bunch of alternatives.

Forget the gaming store in West Stockholm, it is mostly computer stations for online gamers.
But the SciFi Bookstore in Gamla Stan mentioned above is a fantastic store, esp. when your interests are a bit broader than just GW.

I wouldn't say that, while it is true there are much computer playing there it is also a lot of warhammer and the like on the lower floor... Though it is not much warhammer to buy.
SF Bookstore is indeed better if you want to buy, but there is no playing there at all.
