Decided to make some pain tokens after many a time picking up the dice which represented them. I am starting with making a mound of skulls. I am pondering using heads / space marine helmets all magnetized so they can attach/detach easily to count as the tmarkers. I have already cast the original and made copies, took a couple casts to get the proper amount of liquid.. but the miss casts are usable none the less. Here are the pictures, any ideas as to what to use as pain markers is always helpful. Edited because I cannot get the links to work properly...

The pics are broken.

But in the links, the second one looks like rice krispies.

The last one is my favorite though!

PM me if you want me to draw anything related to Warhmmer 40k. I will put it in my gallery for all to see.

Are we talking about pain tokens or pain dioramas? I don't want to drag along 3 40mm bases with most of my units.
I keep it simple and use these "wound markers" from Litko:

Changed it to links, as my images were broken. Haha the 2nd one looks like rice crispies cause they have no paint on them, they are right out of the mold . @ Kroothawk I am basically showing my versions of pain tokens which are a WIP.

I wonder if single skulls/helmets/torso's with an embedded magnet in them wouldn't work better then they'd stick to each other and if you have a tiny neodynium magnet mounted to the underside of your base on one model in the unit you'd only have to have three accessories for each unit rather than the models carrying around a mound of skulls and trophies?

I like your idea a lot steve, but I think I'd lose them long before I used them

I just use betting chips with a chip stacker (holds about 5 chips, but I only need it to hold 3. I have a handful of chips and about 5 stackers.

In a perfect world I'd have some poker chips made up with dark eldar iconography on them. But I haven't a clue where I'd go about doing that. And I'd probably need a dozen or so people to go in it with me to make it feasible.

I drilled holes in some spare heads and put them on some pieces of fence I glued to spare bases.

I think it's better than needing potentially three tokens per unit.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

This is what I use:

Painted in a "pure" white and flecked heavily with blood. I have twenty of them.

They make spectacular Pain Tokens. At $10 for 10, they're not expensive, they look really nice, and they're not cumbersome at all. Ten fit easily into one "slot" in my miniature case.
I can't recommend them enough.

They're available from Dragon Forge:

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

I just use poker chips: white/red/blue (1-2-3).

SKULL beads.

Got them from a craft shop. Little beads that look like skulls (about 8mm across, 10mm tall).

A friend who does needlework and beading found them for me. I use them for wound markers on my armies, but they also work as kill point markers or pain tokens.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Do you base them?
Sounds like a neat idea, but I'd be worried about them getting bumped and rolling around the table.

I had a thought, If you made a mould of said skull beads or other pain token, wound counter markers and cast them using iron filler powder they would then be attracted by a neodynium magnet so all you have to do is glue a magnet onto the underside of the bases for your army and they'd stay in place even if you knocked your model over.....
