The big question with him is - who is he being fielded with? I'm guessing the Incubi? If it is the Incubi I think the Clone Field is not optimal since all it does is deny hits, he'll still have almost no armor save of his own. 10 more points and you can give him Ghostplate to support the
CF, or give him a Shadowfield.
Heamonculus = 120 pts
- WWP
- Agoniser
- Archangel of Pain
Out of curiosity, what is your plan for using the Archangel with this guy?
Turn 1 - move forward in Raider, hop out, deploy portal
Turn 2 - Hop back into Raider, move up.
Turn 3 - Move forward in raider, hop out, activate Archangel, assault?
Seems pretty conditional, and I'd expect him to be dead before then. I personally run portal carriers pretty cheap - I wouldn't want to be dorking around with my Wyches being that slow either.
I also think running only a single portal carrier is *extremely* ballsy. Turn 1, if you don't go first, how hard is it for your opponent to kill one Raider, and possible the squad of Wyches and Haemy as well? If that happens your total battle plan is up a special creek sans paddle.
Heamonculus Ancient = 115pts
- Agoniser
- Animus Vitea
- Vexator Mask
Both Animus and Agoniser are special
CCWs - you can use one or the other, not both. I'd advise dropping the Animus.
ELITES
5 Incubi = 145pts
- Klaivex
- Demiklaives
Okay with this. I'd probably just advocate taking more Wyches though.
FAST
3 Reaver = 86pts
- Cluster caltrops
Bleh. This is pretty weak, I'd take almost anything as a better option to this. You've almost paid for a Cronos or something. Even just some Wracks springing out of the portal would be better.
HEAVY
Talos = 130pts
- CCW
- Chain-Flaits
- TL Haywire Blaster
I'd like to note for you that, thus far, this is really the *only* tool you've taken to deal with enemy vehicles. That is not a good idea.
TROOPS
14 Warriors = 151pts
- Blaster
- Splinter Cannon
Why are you starting these guys on the board? Also, what is their purpose? They feel very random, and not well put together. I'll go ahead and suggest that you may just want to take a DakkaVenom - it will do the same thing as this squad, only better, faster, and cheaper.
9 Wyches = 168pts + 80pts
- Hydra Gauntlets
- Haywire Grenades
- Hekatrix
- Grenade Launcher
- Agoniser
RAIDER
- Flicker field
- Night shield
I'm fine with these, though I think the
PGLs are a waste of points. You already have offensive grenades, and you can usually play well enough to mitigate assaults anyway. Those are points that could be better spent elsewhere.
11 Wyches = 192pts
- 2 Hydra Gauntlets
- Haywire Grenade
- Hekatrix
- Grenade Launcher
- Agoniser
I'll repeat all the
PGL commentary above. Also - serious consideration; look at the stat line of a Wych. Now, go run some math hammer - what is likely to do better and more consistent damage? 2 Wyches with Hydra Gauntlets, or 4 Wyches? Now compare the costs. Then I'd suggest you take +2 Wyches as opposed to 2 Hydra Gauntlets.
Overall - you need to trim up points so you can have a more explosive pop out of the
WWP. Also, frankly, I would change the Ancient to a regular Haemon and use him as a portal drop boy as well. With one portal you run a lot of risks between enemy killing the carrier, encircling the portal, or moving far enough away from it that it's not useful. I'd advise you to take 2
WWPs to help mitigate these weaknesses.
