You COULD use the Bolt Pistol hand. He'd be one handing it, and you could use the other hand for his Chainsword, for pointing at a target, holding a skull, whatever (just for looks, really). It might add some character to that mini.

If you need to, what ive done in the past is, cut a penny in half and glue it under the base. Or sometimes model a heavy rock on the base. Otherwise, have you tried looking for plasic melta guns? I know they make them for CSM kits, and i think regular SM too.

I used the Death Company Bolter arms... They are slightly harder to use, what with them having a bolter attached. But they have much better detail and lots of BA icons.
If you don't play BA then obviously ignore this post, but I thought from your avatar that it might be a possibility.

You could use plastic meltas...the CSM tac squad has some. Should be easy to find on ebay or bits sites.

Also the metal melta guns really aren't that heavy.
I find that on assult marines one handing a weapon looks better then it crossed over the chest.

I believe that there's a plastic meltagun in the Tac Marines box.

I was just pointing out that there was a plastic meltagun in the tactical marines box - now, I wonder why that might possibly have been relevant to the thread? Well, allow me to elaborate:
stileprojekt wrote:My only problem is the meltas are going to be metal on plastic gunna have some balance issues, i was thinking the 1 handed and then i thought they are going to fall over alot
I was merely suggesting that the plastic part could be used in one hand and would not present the same balance issues as a metal part.
I apologise for my being facetious and want to thank you for pointing out my faults to me in a polite and well thought out manner How embarrassing for me!

You could also use the left arm of the bolter arms to hold the weapon and then the right arm is free to point or whatever. Of course the marine is not shooting the weapon, only holding it but it makes a good pose.

Here's a link to the instructions for my Meltagun kit. If you're not magnetizing, it's not all relevant but shows everything else you'll need to know.
Incidentally, if you set the legs reasonably far back on the base, the cantilever effect will prevent the model tipping forward.
