I was wondering if the distinctiveness of stickied threads could be improved; I've noticed (and have heard other people comment) on how people seem to rarely read stickied threads, when often they would save a lot of hassle. An example of this could be when someone posts a question in N&R about when something's due, when Kroothawk has a stickied post at the top with a 'release schedule' according to rumours. Similarly, there's a stickied thread in 40K tactics where Manchu has made a really good collection of helpful threads which would answer many peoples questions if they looked at them first.

Maybe it's just me that's noticed this and I can completely understand that it's not your main priority, but I would like it if stickies were made more noticeable, so that people read them first; potentially reducing a clogging up of the forums.

Just an idea/example, could be to make the font/box in the forums for the stickies bigger and to maybe reverse their colour compared to the forum? They could be made with a more distinctive colour? Potentially Mod Stickies (regarding conduct) and user stickies (regarding information) could be separated?

Stickies are ignored on almost every forum imaginable. I've been on forums where stickies are huge, bolded things and small, barely visisble posts, and each time they're ignored by almost everyone.

Whilst in an ideal world, stickies would be read, it's difficult to get people to read them, even if they are in huge fonts and splashed with every colour of the rainbow, underlined and in italics.

Aaah, I don't use any other forums, so I wouldn't know. Well that sucks, so there's nothing that can be done? Joy...
